Where is the best place to get a tick tested? Can somebody post how to store the tick (keep it alive) and have it be sent out for testing for Lyme, babesia, Ehrlichia etc.?
Thank you!!
The cylinder is easy to ship and protects the tick.
IGENEX test and so does Boston Biomedical (last I heard).
**the tick doesnt have to be alive. Just 'fluffy'

it's just past the brook
kayaker or miamilady
Kara is right....it doesn't have to be alive.
I still wonder about the tick I had tested. I've had nothing but trouble ever since my supposedly Lyme/babesia-free tick bite two months ago.
I guess they can't test for every strain of Lyme!

Put the ticks in a plastic baggie with a piece of damp cotton.

Tick test request form: http://www.igenex.com/formset2.htm
(Download DOC form, and print.)
You can have all the ticks tested in one batch, for several diseases.
Hope this helps.
