Also, is Mepron a cyst buster? I don't see too much written about that here. I went into my LLMD recently to be put on the cyst busters, but instead was put on Zith/Mepron. I don't have Babesia. He said that Mepron has been shown to break cysts. I was expecting Flagyl, etc., but he said that Flagyl has been shown to be cancer causing. My LLMD is very conservative for the most part. Although very smart. Looking back on his protocol, the two months of tetra to start, 2 weeks of Levaquin for Bart to go with a month of minocycline seemed a bit on the conservative side.
 

Reishi is an immune modulator. It is supposed to regulate the immune system and rev up the underactive components and slow down the overactive components.

The difference in this brand of Reishi is that it uses the cracked spores. And this is one case where the more expensive supplement seems to actually be an improvement over the usual health food store variety.

While taking the Pharmax brand WBC is normal including monocytes, eosinophils etc -- all components.

With cheaper brands -- we have tested 2 so far -- total WBC is lower and something is always out of balance -- monocytes are too high or neutrophils are too low etc.

The Lyme specific transfer factor (I forget the manufacturer) did not work for my husband. Monocytes were always high and within 1/2 hour of taking a capsule it consistently triggered increased tremors and seizure-like episodes. He took 2 or 3 bottles but almost always had the same reaction.

The CD-57 test is supposed to measure how well the immune system is fighting Lyme, but by the time my husband had this test done he had been on the Pharmax Reishi supplement for a couple of months so the results were kind of inconclusive. We haven't paid to have this test redone.

In my opinion, the purpose of using an immune system modulator supplement is not necessarily to kill the Lyme per se, but to keep the individual from contracting other viruses and bacteria.
