Any one on neurotrin....think I spelled that right. After a trip to the emergency room last week with a massive migraine....either caused by the intense pain I have been in from my left shoulder and arm or an earlier symptom returning....what a night. Wiped me out for three days. I ended up missing the last two days of school. My doc has started me on neurotrin and it seems to be helping some
.
Another question: I have lost a lot of the muscle tone in my left arm and have very little range of motion...very painful. I've had an MRI that showed tendonitis and I'm having a emg nerve conduction test next week. Some days it hurts to the bone. Anyone else have the same issues with muscle tone?

Neurontin helps reduce nerve pain. I tried it, but couldn't get up to a high enough dosage because it exhausted me too much. I am also on many other meds, including a strong muscle relaxer, so it wasn't just the neurontin in my system.

What you mention with the muscle sounds like muscle atrophy. I really don't know much about it, but I know people have mentioned it before. Perhaps you can find something on a search on the forum or google.

Thanks for the input. Since starting the neurotrin I seem to have more energy. I think muscle relaxers may have to be added to my list of meds.....but how long can that list of meds taken in one day get.!
Hoping the energy continues. After last week any postive in my day is a plus.

My brother visited last weekend and said "you hide all those medications when you have a date over, right?" When I told my very buff yoga teacher that I took 30mg of Flexeril a night, his jaw dropped...he said he couldn't function on 10mg.

The muscle relaxer, combined with a great physical therapist, gave me my life back.

Hi Cher!

I hope the neurontin works for you. If not keep asking for help, as there are different meds that work for different people. Topamax is what has ended up helping my constant migraines the most. I take it daily as a preventative medicine.

I also have the neck, shoulder, and arm troubles. I see an osteopath for treatment to keep the lymph moving and the alignment correct, and take muscle relaxers when needed. The loss of muscle tone can come from a variety of reasons.

If it is due to the Lyme infection, antiobiotic treatment should help. If it is due to problems with nerves or incorrect alignment, physical therapy or osteopathy or chiropractic could help.

It CAN get better! Wishing you the best.

Thanks Riversinger
Things have improved...they had to.
The neurotrin seems to be helping until at least just before the dose wears off and it is too soon for the next. Right now I'm taking 300mg 3 times a day.
Migraines has been a symptom I have had to deal with off and on for the past 5 years while searching for a diagnosis. I've tried several meds with not much luck.
I'm having the nerve conduction test Tuesday...hopefully get some answers then.
See my LLMD at the end of July.
Thanks again.
Cher
