
I'm trying to take it breakfast and dinner and trying to avoid minerals and dairy at those 2 meals.
Dinner's not much of a problem as I can have a piece of poultry and vegetables.
But what in the heck do you eat for breakfast? After one day, which I ate an egg, I'm out of ideas that have no sugar or dairy.
I'm wondering what other people eat for breakfast or as a large enough snack to take the doxy.
My fall-back food has been almond butter, for quite a few years. I'm guessing this is a bad idea because of the high mineral content.

Now that I'm off doxy I'm still eating the same way except I can add a little cheese to my salad.
I'm packing for my week away at "camp" now. All I'd be able to eat at the cafeteria is eggs & sausage or bacon (too much salt and eggs probably have hormones etc.) I'll have a little fridge so I'm bringing a knife & cutting board, lettuce, tomatoes, green peppers, scallions & celery for the salad & cheese (I'm off doxy sorry), canned beans, nuts, hard boiled eggs & nitrate free salami for toppings. I can vary them each day.
I know I'll feel a lot better having a healthy breakfast. I'll rely on the salad bar for my other meals & will have nuts at the parties.
I've travelled to other parts of the world where breakfast is fish & rice etc. I always felt better when I got away from our American wheat centric diet!

Then there's the constant dizziness, weakness and almost fainting because of low calory count. If I get more than 1000 calories it's a good day (and that's SEVEN meals). There's just NO way I can live on 1000 calories a day for three months. The people who said the doxy wouldn't help at all if I didn't do the diet said I would be craving sugar and so on and that would prove I have yeast. Well there's all sorts of candy in the house and the thought of eating it makes me sick. I can't even look at my boyfriend eating crisps. I get sick just smelling them on his breath.
I want regular sick-food: cups of tea, some crackers, an apple, stuff like that. Healthy stuff, not bloody bacon. I feel so sick after taking the doxy, it just feels wrong. It feels wrong to have to take the pills, but it feels even more wrong to have to take them with bacon and eggs. I'm already gagging and crying while eating, way before the doxy kicks in.
I still don't have sugar cravings, or weed cravings, or any other cravings. Chocolate, just the thought of it makes me gag. I just don't want to eat anymore. I feel so depressed, I cry all day and I'm starting to get these anorexic thoughts I haven't had in like 5 years.
I really don't know what to do. My muscles and joints hurt so bad. Most of the time I'm already in tears while cooking because it's just so heavy with the pans and stuff, and every bloody time I try I spill something or burn myself. I hold my nose while cooking because of the smells. I'm sorry, but I really start to doubt the people who said you can eat nothing but meat and eggs and feel fine.
I think if I wouldn't be on doxy it would be easier. But this is just too much for me to take. I sit in the house all day, alone, curtains closed, crying. I'm sorry, but I am really starting to think this might be less healthy than, say, an apple.
I really want to be strong and stay on the diet - but I don't think this is healthy. Especially with the anorexic thoughts. I took a shower after dinner (seems to make me feel a bit better) and I was shaving my legs, which I have been doing for years without any weird thoughts popping into my head. I'm still hairy. I threw the raisor into the hallway and locked the door.
I don't really know why that would help but I really think I would have cut myself if I hadn't done it. I don't know what to do. My boyfriend tells me to hang in there and be strong, and I really try. But he doesn't know about my anorexia, well he knows but I don't think he understands how serious it is. He knows I've had it, and I've told him I start getting these thoughts again, but he just says be strong. I don't know if I can.
This is just what anorexia does. You think you've killed it, and then when you eat waaay to little or puke often or have a strict diet, all of a sudden it comes out of it's hiding place somewhere in your brain, and tells you how much you suck, how ugly you are. And, having my head in the toilet, sweating like a pig, and not being able to brush my hair, I can't disagree.
I just don't think I can fight all this at once. I have no comfort anymore. I don't even know how to make it through this week, let alone three months. I worry a lot. What if I get so ill or have so much pain that I can't get up and cook for myself. How am I supposed to take my doxy? And how do I make sure I don't do something stupid with something sharp?
I've been looking at calory lists to see if there's something I can eat that has lots of calories, but I can't find anything I can have. This just SUCKS. I'm starting to think maybe I should be looser on the diet now, and if I still have symptoms after the doxy, I'll do a detox and yeast free diet then. Just not everything at once. But I don't want to mess up my opportunity to get better, and people here said I might as well not take the doxy if I don't do the strict diet.
Sorry trueblue, I guess this isn't the kind of reply you needed. I'm just going to go to bed and pull a blanket over my head now.

Thank you for all the ideas. I hadn't though about vegetables much for breakfast. Hmm... I can probably do salad and some thing proteiny, for starters. Maybe work up to stir fry. I can only do eggs every few days without getting sick so really have to do something about the other days.
And I'll try oatmeal like cave suggested, I'm not a big fan but willing ot give it a go. I'll just keep saying to myself "it doesn't taste like papier mache."
(I'm only taking 100mg twice a day now. I can't handle more yet.) You can always increase it as your body gets used to it. The point is to be able to tolerate it, otherwise it won't do you any good.
My next piece of advice is because I understand how difficult the food thing is. Do the best you can to eat a well-balanced diet. Eat what ever you want; just go low on the sugar. Eat things you like! If you think I'm giving up mexican food you're nuts. 
I don't think an apple's is gonna kill you. Have one, have it now. Yummm
It will be very good with the cup of tea and crackers. It's too drastic a change, ease into it if you want but not at the expense of your health and safety.
When I go to the store I'm going to buy as many things that I don't hate that are low sugar that I can find. I did this once before and there are products out there. Don't ever eat no sugar cornflakes though, blecch!
I can't eat a high protien diet, I have to have some carbohydrates, it makes me too ill. I'm going to keep eating complexed carbs and up my probiotics. I will confess to eating bread and pretzels so far. I'll just have to get higher quality ones for the long run is all.
Hang in there and do something that makes you feel better, heck, have 2 apples. 
I wish I could help more, I don't know what else to say. I'm sorry this is so awful but do appreciate your company on the journey.

I think my original plan may have been smarter all along (in my case). Just go easy on the carbs and no refined sugars. Don't eat food that makes me puke (duuh... why do I feel silly all of a sudden?). I think I'll buy some diet soda's, low carb crackers, and some fruit tomorrow. And artificial sweetener for my tea. Yeah. Tea.
I just really want to keep up the doxy. If I need to cheat a bit here and there to be able to stand the doxy, fine. Screw the stupid yeast. If I have yeast than it's used to getting soooo much sugar it will probably get scared to death if I eat healthy LOL
Thanks again trueblue. We'll get through it one way or the other. I think now I just need some juice and a good talk with my boyfriend. He should know what's going on.

I'm sorry but the "don't eat foods that make me puke" line was too funny. Heh, my sentiments exactly.I'm glad your doing better, getting out of the house will help as well. Careful of the citrus juice, I know you just can't win. A good talk with your boyfriend is a great idea.
I have learned 2 things today:
1. Whether almond butter is a bad or good thing to take your doxy after, doesn't matter, if it makes it come up and burn your throat. (I think I'll eat it between doses.)
2. An enormous amount of heat and light comes off incandescent lights. It'd be a good idea to bring sunglasses into restaurants. I was so busy worrying about getting burnt in the car I didn't think about indoor lighting. Oddly, the man working there that I asked if they increased their lighting didn't think it was a strange question.

My orange juice is sooo delicious. I've been sipping at it for an hour now (250 ml.). The contents make me wonder though... 9 gr. of carbs in 100 ml.... Is that really that bad? Yoghurt has 5... Well anyway I'm going to sleep now, feel quite a bit better but very tired from the short trip.

Dafje ~ I'm glad you got out of the house anyway. I was alright with car lights while driving home tonight but am considering putting smaller bulbs in all the lamps.
The artificial light seems worse than natural so far. We'll see tomorrow.

Doxycycline may be taken on an empty stomach or with food. Milk and other dairy products should be avoided, unless otherwise directed by your doctor, as they may decrease the absorption of the medication. Instructions regarding doxycycline use may vary by manufacturer. If you need to take doxycycline with milk, talk to your pharmacist to verify if your particular prescription should be taken with dairy products.
I wonder why they say you could take it on an empty stomach though, doesn't seem smart to me.
I'm fairly careful about the sun, I was on tetracycline when I first moved here and was fine. (Well, I didn't play outside much.)

I think some people maybe able to take it on an empty stomache. Just not me. The generic I'm taking is way too acidy. (They're little orangy-pink pills.)
I took time-released doxy once before and it caused little or no stomache problems. It was a capsule and had little time pills in it.
Of course, I had a drug plan in those days where I paid $5.00/prescription. The one I'm taking was $10.34 and the time released one $200+. (oh, that was for 2 weeks worth)
Honestly, I think if you needed to take it with a little milk and it reduced the effectivenes slightly; it might not make much difference. I'm not sure if that's true but the thought of milk with it makes me queasy.
Also be careful with the orange juice it may make you more sun sensitive. Someone posted a topic a week or so ago about doxy and lemondade. They seemed to burn worse wiht the citrus in their system.
