I'm treating with an alternative doc and llmd for lyme. My alternative doc wants me to do some homeopaths to detox liver and spleeen.

I've heard horror stories of people getting very ill and am a little concerned about trying anything like this.

Has anyone tried homeopaths and did it help?

It must not be a very good feeling not to be able to trust one's doctor. Yes, we all have heard horror stories galore.

Completementary medical doctors often use some of all disciplines - school medicine, orthodox med and alternative, as well as homeopathics.

I used a lot of homeopathics, but I have also used pharma drugs, herbals and supplements of one sort or another, and many not-run-of-the-mill therapies.

I might add that all of the above eventually got me well.

It is important to trust your doctor, his experience and knowledge - it's the bigger part of healing all around.

Take care.

Unfortunately, my husband went to a homeopath when he first got lyme because the regular doctors were of little or no help.
He spent a lot of money there and it really did nothing for him. He is now disabled and on abx from LLMD. Maybe you will have more success though. Everybody is different.

If you plan to use homeopathic remedies, please use them under the care of a proper, classically trained homeopath.

The alternative docs can be very useful, but they should know better than to "dabble" in something as potent as homeopathy. The fact that your doc recommends homeopathic remedies for "detox" tells me that he's not a homeopath and not classically trained.

Use him for herbs or nutrients or whatever, but not homeopathy.

BTW - some herbs and such can be very useful for cleansing, just tell him that you want to start out very gently and work your way up. Tell him of your concerns and if you aren't comfortable with his answer, find someone else.

Communication and trust are part of the program!

I just got back from an intense 6 week homeopathic treatment for Lyme in Reno, NV. They did liver detox, hydrogen peroxide IVs, major autoheme, photoluminesence, etc. I have never been poked so many times in my life! Sometimes 4 + shots per day plus IVs every day!

I spent $12,000 + (which my insurance won't cover because it was alternative medicine) and did not notice any improvement at all, and am now feeling the devastation of being broke, unemployed, and very sick still. I had hoped that this would save me from abx, but now I'm on my way to see a LLMD for abx treatment next week.

I would say be very, very careful and make sure you do your homework. I have read and learned alot about homeopathic treatment before I went out and while I was out there. Feel free to email me directly if you want to chat more.

Thank you everyone!

I've been checking around and have found homeopaths to be powerful and can make you ill if not done properly.

GiGi, the vitamin C/salt protocol sounds interesting. Wouldn't you want a doc supervising this? How often were you seeing your doc when you were doing this protocol?
