Evidently he received a bite,he did take a picture of it and is going to the Dr.
He is certain it is a spider bite,I'm?
The rash has the center red bump, where he was bitten. The ring is there, very faint now,and it has faded into almost a yellowish, black and blue color. But clear in the center.
This bite is on his arm near his arm pit.
He is certain the bite is spider, another neighbor got a picture off of the web and of course that picture is very Lyme rash, very red and very round.
His bite is very faint now,not a complete circle.
Does anyone have any input on their rashes and how the rash progressed and a possible decription of it.
Did your bite develope a bit of yellowish with it as the bite dissipated?
Thank you for your input,it can be tricky trying to stress the importance of this bite,he is really convinced it is a spider and then after seeing only one rash off of the web.
These rashes can be so different in appearance and he thinks they all look like the one he saw.
This man is a landscaper and I would hate to see him suffer,so any stories about you rash would be really helpful
As you can see from the pictures--
there is much variation in apperance.
I am lucky mine was so picture perfict
or I would not have remembered it
18 years later when I saw TV show
on Lyme.
My bruse faded away in a week or so
and I started to get sick a few
weeks later. It seams it did turn
yellow before it went away--
Tell you friend that the last 20 years
have been Horiable and Lyme has
ruined my life--
I would give up the rest of my life
for 6 months of feeling good
with out a second thought--Jay--
My EM rash was a definite bite mark in the center surrounded by an oval shaped pink area, solid color across, no rings. It was slightly raised but did not itch or hurt. It expanded in size to 9 or 10cm over the course of a week and then began to turn purple and then yellow like a bruise. Totally faded over the course of several weeks.
Result = CDC+ late stage neuro Lyme with cardiac involvement

My bites were obtained through landscaping as well, I never considered this to be a dangerous profession, but now I know better.
I had multiple EMs on arms and legs over the years, but they never really bothered me, and I hated to go to doctors, so I just ignored them.
One of my friends thought that it could have been ringworm, so I just went with that explanation.
Mine were not typical Bullseyes either. But looked like circular rashes that cleared in the center with a narrow red raised ring. They would get to about 3'' in diameter, and then begin to fade away after several weeks. Some however would last for months.
These cleared finally when I began ABX.
I think the common photos are very misleading as there are a variety of rashes associated with lyme and co-infections.

I was diagnosed with a spider bite
First off, it burned when I was bit and then went numb, I was sitting on the grass. Then it became a raised red bump with a large raised (2" x 5") oval around it. The oval became red as well and it cleared from the center.
Since the bite hurt, it may have been from something else. I don't remember if it turned to a bruise, it was on the back of me, after all.
Well, I'm sure that helped, not at all.
My bite was on the front of my ankle and didn't form a ring - it was just a raised bump maybe 6mm across, a bit like a mosquito bite but not itchy at all.
I ignored it until I got flu-ey 3 weeks later (terrible joint pains and stiffness, headache, nausea, sore eyes, etc etc). At that time, I got 2 nice big red rings around both my armpits. The internal diameter was maybe 6 inches across, the rings were maybe an inch thick. Only one was a complete circle, the other more of an upside down horseshoe. They faded to pink then yellow then brown.
Hope that helps a wee bit.
This is just what I needed and this will be a tremendous help for my friend.
He is seeing his Dr. in the AM.,is armed with info, these descriptions, thanks to you and is ready to get abx. for his TICK BITE!!!Good job folks, you are the greatest.
