I've been really sleepy lately and also have a rapid heartbeat. Being sleepy is new for me, I haven't experienced anything like this for years and years.
The rapid heartbeat is a symptom I thought I'd left behind.
Recently began taking clindamycin and quinine for babesia, and suspect this may be the culprit?
I dread taking new meds for lyme . . . never know what will happen (sigh).

Thanks guys!
I'll muddle through this . . . if only I could keep my eyes open.

Oh lordy, I just lay in bed all the time on that combination! I also remember my ears roaring all the time ( it's the quinine) and driving was JUST a tad hazardous - I could barely stay on the road and there was a strange yellow look to everything. I honestly don't remember much of anything around that time.... oh - stay hydrated! love dharma

dharma,
Yup, got up at 8:00 this morning, went back to bed by 8:20 and slept until 11:00.
My ears are hissing constantly. I've also noticed temporary blurriness in portions of my eyes at times. Strange, but it must be working!
Thanks!
P.S. Will definitely stay hydrated.

If you're taking 2 quinine tablet per day, you might try 1 and see if the ringing in the ears lets up.
My tachycardia reared its ugly head while on this combo. Still taking meds for it.
Hi dharma!!! [waving!!]

Hi BB, I was just answering Annie's post on IV Clinda, and replying that this med made me very tired and cold...I also had the rapid heartbeat thing a few times.
Are you on IV or oral? I ask because I found that by slowing down the infusion rate, I had less of a problem.
My best to you, Melanie
