My neurologist scheduled the following tests for me: EEG, hoelter monitor, MRI-brain, nerve conduction study. My LLMD is concerned about syncope/collapse. So far, all of my test results have been normal. The submission forms for the tests only had syncope (not lyme)in my medical history. I have a nerve conduction study Fri. morn. I am curious if the docs that read my tests would have detected some abnormalities or read the results differently if they knew I had Lyme?? It may not even matter. Also, I use a battery operated blood pressure monitor. My LLMD said they are inaccurate by atleast 20 pts. Anyone else been told this??? I am going to get a manual BP cuff. I have a problem believing these tests are normal when I have obvious neurological symptoms that require teatment. Sorry this is so long, I need lots of input!!!

I went to 4 neurologists over the course of a year and a half, because many of my lyme symptoms were (are) neurological. I had all of the tests done that you mentioned, and they were all normal.
This just left the neurologists puzzled.
If you know that you have lyme, then treat the lyme.
If you want to rule out other causes for the neurological issues, you can do that. But, lyme can cause neurolgoical issues.
Hubby had all these tests and many more from about 10 different neurologists.
At one time he had the syncope problem you mention. He could get up to go to the bathroom in the morning and pass out 2 or 3 times before he could get back to bed. Or he could just roll over in bed and lose consciousness. A tilt table test was normal as well as most of the other tests.
What finally helped with the syncope problem was low dose Cortef (2mg at breakfast, 2mg at lunch and 1 mg at supper). Yes this is a very low dose of Cortisol, but he can't even begin to tolerate the suggested dose of 35 mg which is about what a normal person produces daily.
The 2nd med used for about a year with the Cortef was Florinef (it was either .5 or .05 mg I forget which). Florinef is an antidiuretic which causes you to retain fluid.
Lyme does crazy things to all the hormones.
The two meds I mentioned help with adrenal fatique.
