I called Roch the company that makes it and they say it is only good for 24 hours oncew it reached room temperature.
But the private nursing company that shipped it was trying to tell me it was still good. Until I told them I called Roche, then they said someone would drive out tommorow to replace this shipment..ugh
Anyone have these problems?..Who should I complain to? I called the dr. but they are
closed...Anyone???
Please some advice would be much appreciated...
Should I ask to switch shipping companies? Or could I have it directly shipped from ROche? Is that a possibility?

My rocephin came from an infusion company. It was delivered in a cooler and they placed it in the refrigerator for me.
How about an insulated styrofaom cooler with dry ice. Would that work for shipping?
Rocephin must be refrigerated.
Personally, I would take the new shipment and make sure it arrives ice cold or frozen.

Mine used a courier that left it in the 95 degree sun for several hours, rocephin was not only warm, but hot. Once it is reconsituted from powder to liquid form it must remain refrigerated or it begins to break down. It can be used for up to seven days after reconstitution if kept refrigerated.
That is why they can send you a week's worth of reconstituted rocephin at a time. But refrigeration is not optional.
You were right to contact Roche. In the future remind them to use more cold packs and ship appropriately. They lose money and perhaps their pharmacy license if it is not handled properly. You might want to check to see if they billed your insurance company for the second batch too.

My rocephin arrives cold packed with ice packets and in insulated bags from a courier, but it always looks amber when it arrives.I hope this is how it should look otherwise what good/harm is it doing me.
