Has anyone had any positive or negative results with acupuncture. I have tried it twice before with different acupuncturists and was so sick afterwards that I had to stay in bed for two days to recover. Out of desperation,I am thinking of trying it again and the acupuncturist is saying she can reduce the intensity of the treatment so that the side effects are not so terrible. I'm hesitant to try but antibiotics and supplements have not done a thing to alleviate any of my symptoms so I will try anything at this point. Thanks for your help.

I did acupuncture for my sciatic nerve pain. It would help me get out of the most severe pain, but it wouldn't last more than a day or two.
You might get more benefit from cranial sacral work or massage therapy.
If you have massage therapy, then be SURE to tell them to go easy on you!

chances are if done correctly you WILLL get sick after accupuncture..it's called a healing crisis...it still happens to me, albeit for a brief=er time, maybe hours now, instead of days when i started my treatments 2 years ago for lyme..but accupuncture has worked wonders for my migraines and joint pain, and numbness, weakness and every other thing from lyme ..bart and babs...it's been a lifesaver...
but you will have a healing crisis after...even if they do go lighter and easier on you. when your body gets any alternative treatment done on it's and it starts to heal itself you have what is called a 'healing crisis'..it's your body realigning itself or healing itself again..
it's a good thing..but it feels awful.you're symptoms will get worse for awhile..but you'll feel better after...
I get them with cranialsacral, reiki etc..as well..
