Wow, this is going to sound so stupid, but i need to ask....Do any of you feel like you are secreting more than average saliva?

Sometime it feels like my mouth keeps watering for hours, and then it goes away.

I catch myself drooling a bit at the corners of my mouth! Yuck.....thanks, jellyfish

Jellyfish,

My whole family has a rep with the doctor for having a lot of saliva--always have.

I have LD
my uncle has parkinsons
grandmother has alzheimers

Wouldn't surprise me if we all had something--interesting question...

Where's DocDave when you need him?

how about his alias;will that do.
excess saliva is not very common in autoimmune diseases ,just the opposite, usually dry mouth and dry eyes occur.

excess saliva can be just a normal function, but could also be caused by some medications, usually not.
another cause can be a tumor in the gland that produces too much saliva, not very common either.

if you chew gum alot, grind your teeth, or eat alot, the chewing motion is what stimulates the glands to think there is food in the mouth, causing more saliva , so the digestion process can start.
