Hi Lymeindunkirk -

I've been taking the cats claw for about three weeks.

I took a two hour car ride recently and whereas normally after a ride like that I would hardly be able to get out of the car (extreme stiffness) -- well, I noticed when getting out of the car I wasn't even half as stiff as I would have been before.

Soooo - I am thinking that the stuff is working for me! I still have deep 'bone aching' especially at night when trying to sleep, but for general stiffness it seems to help.

I noticed that when I stop it, I begin to feel worse.

TOA free cat's claw did nothing for me. I did read in recent book, Healing Lyme by Stephen Buhner that one should use cat's claw that is not TOA free for better results. He cites the faults in the studies of TOA free cat's claw. Too long to post here.

I've been thinking about taking samento. I've read lots of positive things about it.
Most info told of people who didn't take abx but cat's claw instead.

Can you take abx while taking cat's claw?

SAK, my son is taking ABX while taking cats claw and he seems to be getting better but whose to say its the cats claw.

I should be taking it but haven't like I should. I have to honestly say, I keep forgetting!

I wanted everyone's opinion to weigh the pros and cons.

I CAN say that it makes me herx.
After I herx I feel better.

lymeherx, how many drops do you take a day? My son is up to 4 in the morning and 4 in the evening. I started him out slow.

I did a search on this and I think ill reply.

I take a small amount of the powder on my tounge.
It is best to start small.

I just herxed today on it and slept for an hour and now woke up and have less muscle pain.

In fact I know that this week it is working because Ive been having cake every day for my birthday and no I have no burning like I usually do.

SO its working, I just have to keep my faith.

I have been taking WHOLE herb Cat's Claw for about 11 months now along with other herbs. I do not take it in liquid form, but rather the whole herb, in powder form, IN CAPSULES.

I take it pretty much according to Stephen Buhners Healing Lyme book.

I do NOT herx with it. You may have more of a tendency to herx if taking the liquid form, as I imagine it is stronger. IF you are herxing, you also may NEED to be taking Red Root tincture and Milk Thistle and by all means do not forget to take your Sarsaparilla every day too.

Hope you can answer a few questions

Why do you take the red root tincture with it
what does it do?

Also- sarsasparilla is known to kill parassites
what do you take this for-

I have been taking samento and have switched to cats claw now that my brain is less foggy - I find that i still herx with it - Much less muscle aches
