In the literature that I was given it stated that it is not uncommon to have MAJOR ( 40 -60 lbs) weight gain.
I did not quite understand why and what causes it and of course how to avoid it. Can someone please explain it to me in simple terms. Is it because of the antibiotics or is it caused by just having Lyme and if so why hasn't it happened before my diagnosis?? I am clueless, please enlighten me.

Some gain weight, some lose weight, some stay the same.

Weight gain could be because in many cases Lyme seems to affect the thyroid and also fatigue and a sedentary lifestyle.

Weight loss?
sick to the stomach from abx or just not hungry, chronic illness affects people differently.

So true and false I think.

I thought it was due to how Lyme messes with the thyroid, but there are probably other reasons too.

Gosh, I wish I understood this weight issue. I'm struggling to understand why I'm suddenly hungry after starting abx. I was low appetite before (which is a Lyme symptom).

Presciption drug info from the pharmacy clearly says that there is 'loss of appetite' as a side effect of most abx. What literature did you read that indicated weight gain? I'd love to read it.

So, I'm thinking could it be die off?? Can someone enlighten us here? I wish I had access to an llmd to ask...
