I always thought that Herxs were cyclic in nature, thought to be due to the breeding of the spirochetes about every 3 weeks.

I "thought" I had a Herx that lasted this entire last weekend. I had feverish symptoms, headaches, chills, increased muscle and joint pain, etc.

When I spoke to my LLMD's nurse she said it could not have been a Herx because it would not have stopped without backing off the antibiotics which I chose not to do (I'm stubborn).

I didn't think this was true. I thought that Herxes were cyclical in nature.

Can anyone shed some light on this?

Thanks,

jloisu

I'm not a nurse. But I respectfully disagree with your LLMD's nurse.

Mine stop. Thank God. If they didn't I'd be wretched all month long. Instead, I'm only wretched about half the month, or three quarters. Like you, I refuse to back off the meds.

Eventually enough toxins clear from your system that you start to improve.

That seems an odd comment from an LLMD's nurse, unless she thought from talking to you that something else might be wrong vs. a Herxheimer reaction...

Hmm...! :-)

Hi!

I also agree that form personal experience, it could definitely be a herx. Mine seem to come, and pass, regardless of whether I stopped the abx, or stopped them. So, good luck!

I mean, stop or keep taking them! Sorry!
