Hi Everyone!

I remember reading an article explaining why Rocephine was not a good choice for Lyme. It basically said something to the effect that Rocephine masks Lyme symptoms and the Lyme comes back worse after stopping the drug.

I've done a search but can't seem to find the article. Can any of you help me?

Thanks in advance!
Naomi

I think that WAS true, but now with cyst busters (like flagyl) it can be effective. I could be wrong, though!

Rocephin is a good drug for some and bad for others just like most therapies. Until you have tried it you don't know if it will be good for you or not.

Two years ago - my son was on rocephine. He had cronic lyme for over 10 years.Right after that he went on a strict diet of no sugar, lots of veggies, etc. and some supplements.
Now he is feeling the best he has in years - no anti-biotics, etc..
This worked for him - but know it doesn't for everyone.

sicd is right. IV roceph can be pretty effective for some who deal with lyme (Im getting ready to start taking it myself). However, you do need to be on other meds such as flagyl to help break the cysts open.

My kids each did 12wks rocefin. It helped them. You should do some research on the effect of rocefin on the gall bladder. It can cause gallstones; I am hearing that pulsing can help and also there is a drug you can take to protect gb.
Best Wishes,
Suz

i am on hold from rocephin right now...because im getting my gallbladder out, yes from the effects of rocephin...BUT

rocephin works really well for me, makes my dizziness and a lot of other neurological symptoms go away within the 2nd dose.. I personally think rocephin is a good drug.

Im willing to get my gallbladder out because i want to stay on rocephin, not all people have problems with the gallbladder, some tolerate it better then others.

but gallbladder does seem to be a big issue..i think it helps a great deal with neuro lyme...

thats only my own experience.
