Does your doctor test you regularly for these toxins?
The more I read about Lyme, the more scared I get and feel that I will not get better. It seems all so hopeless. I just wish I could choose a good LLMD and get in. I am getting such conflicting stories from everyone about who is good and then I get just as many emails saying that LLMD is bad. So I am so emotionally exhausted about who to choose.
Then I read all the side effects you are all having with fast pulse, vomiting, jumping out of bed, jerking motions. OMG, I wouldn't know if it was Lyme or if I was dying.
And now I am almost certain my 3 year old has it as well. So I will need to make an appt with the Pediatric LLMD in CT at some point for him. I need to take one step at a time. I need to get started on treatment so I can be well enough to care for him. And then we will have to get my husband and daughter treated as well.
Do you know if the Pedi LLMD in CT will treat a sibling without definite symptoms if he knows it was transmitted in utero?
For instance, I have heard horrible things about my LLMD's office from some people. Personally, I think they're great. I've gotten annoyed at times, but generally it was because I wasn't asking them the right questions so they couldn't give me the right answers. It was ME not THEM.
Listen to what everyone says about a doctor, but see if you get more good feedback then bad. Probably the best way to deal with it.
You fight anything if you know what you are fighting.
Any LLMD that is recommended here, I would say is a good Dr. But that doesnt mean that your personalities will mesh. Sometimes they just dont.
Over the next couple of years, all seven members of my family were diagnosed and treated for Lyme disease.
It's been a long, hard road, but God has been good, and we were blessed with the means to recieve care from two of the best LLMDs in the country. With their help, we are doing much better.
My husband and I see Dr. B on L*** I*****. Our children are patients of Dr. Jones in Connecticut. He has given permission to use his name on this site.
Dr. Jones is simply incredible. They have not yet invented adjectives good enough to describe him. He is a dedicated humanitarian and a brilliant doctor--and yes, he will treat based on clinical symptoms when appropriate; if you suspect in utero transmission, maybe a phone consult with Dr J will help you to know what to expect? I recommend you get on the phone and schedule that appointment NOW, because the waiting list for new patients is quite long.
Dr. B is also an amazing doctor, whom I credit with turning my life around when local LLMDs no longer knew how to "fix" me.
Whoever you choose as your doctor, try to have faith, and take life one day at a time. On bad days, maybe just one hour, or minute at a time! But you WILL get through this.
You may email me if you need more info on these doctors.
As for your detox question, I have used cholestyramine to detox following a year of abx. For our children, milk thistle seemed to work well.
I would call and explain your situation and maybe yu can get in sooner but I don't know.
I have lyme as do my 2 children. My son is congenital. We are all getting better slowly. It takes time, you need patience and sometimes I look and look for mine and its taken a hike.
This is a good place to be. Everyone here understands.
