I hear you all say you pulse a medication, what does that mean?

Pulsing a medication can be done differently. Some people do on a week, off a week. Some do on Monday, Wed, Fri and off the other days. At this time I am taking my meds Mon, Wed, Fri for 3 weeks and then off for a week.
I BELIEVE (verification anyone?) that it is done to, as I say, "keep the buggers guessing". It also helps when you have a weak stomach.

Taking a medication on say an every other day schedule. Or it could be MWF then take off Sat. and Sun. It kind of gives your body a rest from the herx and keeps inflammation to a slow burn, and that can be good.
It can also mean taking a meds for several weeks then taking a break and then starting again.
The first explantion is the one that I am most familiar with and have used.

Terri-I recommend Dr J B's video for $12 from www.lymepa.org It's 90 minutes of Lyme treatment (& co-infections) information that can't be beat.

I had never pulsed any of my son's antibiotics before... but now am pulsing artemisinin because I am using a fairly high dose.
