Hello All, What's with all this da** sweating?!?!?!?!? I'm soooooo sick of it! Ever since my onset of lyme, any temprature over 65 degrees is just intolerable. My Bowen test came back negative for co-infections, so it's not that... Even at random, resting times the sweats just continue to happen. And, even hormone replacement did not help it... Any one have a clue as to why this keeps happening??? (thru menopause now)

I have it from the treatment, but I have babesia (Bowen). It must be detoxing. I added potassium. Did you mention it to your LLMD? I'd be curious to know.
If you are an Aries, that is a fire child. Maybe you are normalizing. Isn't that a nice thought. I hope you don't live in the South, but most of the US has had unseasonable heat. But remember there is no Global Warming. Just like there is no lyme in my state.

HI, yep, my very, very good llmd knows about the sweating, he did treat me 2 times with marlarone & biaxin (3 days each time). Then the Bowen came back neg for co-infections, and we haven't done anything more... Is it possible to have babs and a a neg from Bowen??? Isn't Bowen the "gold standard"????

My daughter only wished she had your problems. During all the years she had Lyme she was always freezing ... wore a heavy winter coat in summer and had the electric blanket on her bed cranked up year-round. Then winter came and it only got worse ...

I would still suspect Babs...the MO-1 strain cannot be detected with tests at this time.

Bowen is looking at blood smears, so in theory should be able to detect babesia, regardless of species.
However, they are looking at a finite amount of blood on these slides, so a low level infection might still be missed.
I would have thought that major sweating caused by babs would have indicated an easily detectable level of infection. Just my guessing here.
Maybe it isn't babs, hard to be sure. I had sweating that was babs, and sweating that was lyme.
3 days of malarone at the usual dose + biaxin would not be considered enough treatment in many babs cases. It was nothing like enough for me.
