I have just been recently diagnosed with LD. I am fairly certain I was bitten by a tick back in April, because I've been sick since then. I developed an Asthmatic Bronchitis in mid-May and the asthma part has never left. My PMD originally thought this was because of GERD, which is highly probable, but since I was diagnosed so recently with both asthma and LD I was wondering if there's any connection? Maybe someone out there has had the same thing?

Several healthcare providers diagnosed e with asthma, prior to being diagnosed with Lyme. No more "asthma."

I went through the same thing with the asthma
dx. They thought it was GERD or that I was
just making it up because pulmonary function
tests showed that I had lungs like an
Olympian's early on. I had air hunger and
antibiotics helped with it.

Good morning,

Yes, many LD patients have respiratory difficulties. Mine are worse when Bartonella symptoms flare.

Welcome!

Wow! Your story sounds just like mine! I got another tick bite in April and got asthma soon afterward. Never had it before.

Dr also considered GERD as a possibility. Still don't know, but since treating the GERD, things are better.

I'm now suspecting mycoplasma. {?}

Mycoplasma! Now there's a reason I could be having difficulty breathing! I forgot those little buggers cause respiratory problems. I think they have to be treated with sulfa drugs, not abx?
