Hi,
I am waiting to see Dr. D in Boston, but would love to see an LLMD, while I wait to see him, which could take some time.

Thanks,

Rob

Unfortunatly you will probably have to wait no matter what LLMD you see. As there are for more of us with Lyme than Docs who treat it.
I was Dr.D's cancelation list and had about 6 weeks cut from my original appointment. Make sure your on it.

I know it is hard but do your best to patient because worrying about it is not going to help. I know it is easier said then done. Your anxiety is all part of Lyme, knowing that sort of helps.

Also once you begin treatment and begin to herx you will wonder what have I signed on to? Do your best to enjoy your summer because your fall will be rough.

Try taking an Epsom salt bath it will help relax you.

Take care.

Unless you can find a PCP to work with a LLMD or follow a LLMDs protocol, I'd concur with the above.

Thanks!
I have had meds b-4 and No Herx! I have heard that not all people experience this process. I also do not have it as bad as many here do. I am hoping to get through it without worry of side affects.

Dr. D's secretary is away. Make sure you leave a messae, e-mail, fax AND write him a letter with all your info. Get on the cancellation list and make it clear you will come in anytime there is an opening.

When I was in your situation, I felt that i absolutely needed to be on adequate antibiotics while waiting for Dr. D. First m PCP gave me 4 weeks, and in that time I made an appt. in Ct. with Dr. R. (could ahve been any LLMD) and Dr. R's nurse put me on antibiotics until I could see Dr. D.

Right after that appt. I got a call from Dr. D w/an appt. first thing in the am that very week.

Some people on this board are critical of Dr. D and others are very supportive. Many complain that he does not often treat coinfections. My family's experience with him has been good, and insurance has paid for it too. I have found a variety of opinions about every LLMD, to tell you the truth. It can be kind of confusing.

No matter what you end up doing eventually, Dr. D is a great place to start and may be the place you can also end, if things go well. From what you say, it sounds like there is a very good chance of that for you!
