I just wanted to let everyone know, that I got a PIC line in today and started on I.V. Rocephan, and in 10 days I will start HBO treatments and probably do around 40.
I have been sick on and off with lyme for what I believe to be at least 5 years. I only recently about 8 months ago found out I might have lyme disease. Now I know I do. Last year before I knew I had lyme disease, I was suffering daily for terrible headaches, neck pain, and a few other things, and i had surgerey on my jaw thinking it would take care of the symptoms, but instead I woke up and never recovered. In fact I am just now an entire year later starting to get close to the point where I was before the surgerey. It was so hard to go into surgerey expecting to get better, and wake up with a whole lot more problems than you started with. When I found out about lyme, I wasn't sure that I had it and the testing methods being so poor didn't help much. I now know I have lyme, but at the time this past january I wasn't sure, but I started on orals and changed to different abx every so often, was on mepron for a while, and I never noticed much of a recovery till very recently. I am still tore up for the surgerey last year and all of the symptoms I had prior are worse as well, but I am better now than I have been since last august if that makes sense.
Anyway, I know that different people have tried the HBO and I know some have had luck and others have not. I am looking forward to the possibility of some extra help and also to the chance that the IV roc will kick things up. Today I got my first dose and I start the HBO in 10 days so I will keep posting how I am doing and if there is any progress. Wish me luck,
I did 50 dives with Minocycline and it was the best spent money I've ever spent. I'm going to do another 50 soon. I'm also thinking about buying a home chamber too.
My doc has discovered that a lot of people with Lyme have bone death particularly in the jaw. If you have this scan done and prove it, insurance will usually pay for HBOT. I'm exploring that route right now.
When you go on your dives it takes a few times to get used to it, but don't be scared. It's a little tiring, but the oxygen really makes you feel stronger when you're done. It's a cool feeling.
Good luck with that PICC. You've been though a lot already - I'm surprised you didn't get that PICC sooner. WOW, PICC and diving. You're going to be really going after it. I wish you well. Hope your PICC is a breeze. Mine is just 2 days old and so far is a piece of cake.

Michelle, you just got a PIC too? Yours is a day or two older than mine I guess. Did yours itch around the whole area at first...the itching is driving me crazy.
Anyway, yeah I am really going to try and hit it hard in as many ways as possible while I am doing the HBOT. I'll post any progress or regression. Thanks again
