Hello Everyone,

I have just stopped 9 months of Ketek and will begin Cefzil. My llmd has prescribed it in combination with Amoxy to target chronic strep. She is doing labs every 2 weeks to monitor my penicillin levels.

She said the Cefzil will also hit the Lyme although not as well as other abx. I also have babs and am on Mepron and Plaquenil, too.

If you've used Cefzil I'd love to hear your experience with it...

Used Cefzil for about a week. Broke out in a horrible rash all over and was told to discontinue it.

I am on Biaxin now, which seems to be working better. Plus, even with my insurance, a month of Cefzil was $130, while the Biaxin was only $10!

Glad to hear the Biaxin is working out better for you. I just got my Cefzil today....very pricey. It costs more than my Mepron, which is liquid gold...

I hope you are not paying out of pocket! I think the Cefzil costs $600 for 90 tablets, before insurance!
