Hi,
This is my first time posting. About 7 months ago I started having weird symptoms after a trip to the west. I believe some of the symptoms may have started before this. After the return hope fromk the trip my symptoms got really bad. My biggest problem has been visual disturbances. I have floaters and everything seems wavy. It's almost like Im looking through cellophane. I also have visual trails and it is very disturbing when something quickly goes through my field of vision. One really weird symptom is that shadows look very intense to me. It's hard to explain. I have alot of other symptoms such as fatigue, tinnitus, numbness in extremities, and the lsit goes on. I am lucky to be seeing Dr, Burrascano and he started me on Ketek. My tests came back positive on 31kda and equivocal on five other bands on the IGM. My IGG came back equivocal only on 41kda. Any response would be helpful.
Thanks

I am not a doctor, but your symptoms sound exactly like my worse symptoms. Vision problems, numbness and tingling in extremeties, fatigue, tinnitus for years prior to testing. By the way Ketek has been great for me one of the best if not the best abx for me atleast.

Wecome to Lymenet.

Yes,many of us experience changes of the visual kind.

I would see things out of the corner of my eye, turn to look and poof, gone.

Once while starting a new med,I had intense floaters, just in one eye. That was scary.

My night time driving has been limited because of Lyme.It is improving but the intense glare and lights hitting my eyes would set off extreme migrains.I would also black out and had to pull over for safety,so I quit the night driving.

The cellophane vision I had was mostly in the AM and late PM.My eyes would really tell me when I needed to have some shut eye.

Good luck,we are having Red Snapper this weekend!

I would get a base line eye exam, some meds.do require that we keep a close watch on the eyes. There are some Newbie Links, buried on pages below, they are great reading too.

Hello Snapper,
All your symptoms sound very familiar, particularly the eye problems. I get misty eyes in the morning on waking and then in the evening. I can actually clear bits of gunge out of my eyes with my finger!Throughout the day I get really bad floaters and something that I can only describe as looking like a sort of oily heat haze in my vision.
The only time that all my symtoms dissapeared, even the eye problems, was when I went into hospital for a routine op under a general aneasthetic. Whatever they gave me stopped everything, I just wish I knew what it was! Done Samento, antibiotics etc. and nothing gets rid of the eye thing, fatigue and aches & pains & tingling!
