The roof of my mouth, my tounge and throat feel like I am eating fire. I suppose this is Candida?
Anyone know?
I quit ABX today because I am so ****ing toxic it is unbelievable! High doses/combos for over a year. I really can't take it anymore. Hopefully,I can get this candida under control. I already eat gluten free and organic.......guess I now have to cut the limitd fuit and rice/nut flour I have been consuming.
Who else is at the end of thier rope?? After 1 and a half years of treatment I hoped to be better than this. Now, I have even more problems. Some of the pain is less but all this new **** sure makes up for it.

Hi,robi!
I read the title of your post and thought of ...yoghurt! Plain, of course.
I think of spicy, hot Indian food and what helps a 'burning mouth'. It will help fight the bad flora and put in good flora at the same time!
Hope this helps!

Hi Robi If u think u r suffering from Candida, avoid eating foods like rice, bread, pizza for 3 to 4 days ans eat only salad and lot of plain yoghurts, drink lot of water, dont drink pop or sodas.. Just try this for two to three you will feel the difference and become better. -Venkat

If you have candida problems, and especially if you are on abx long term, you really have to be strict on your diet. I know it's a *****, but that's the way it is. Milk products are bad for candida, even plain yoghurt. Rice, fruit, and nuts are all bad news for candida and fungus. You always have a choice.
Something you might try since you have a candida problem is the Schardt Diflucan protocol for 50 days with no abx. This would give you a break from abx, and clear out the candida. Maybe you have made more progress than you know and the candida is what's holding you back now?

Hi Robi,
I had burning in my mouth two weeks ago but in my case the actual tongue was discolored with red burn like sores.
In my case it was a reaction to Septra. I then became educated in Stephens-Johnson syndrome which I have since learned runs in my family.
It is a serious reaction and can happen to any medication not just antibiotics. It can be fatal so take this very seriously. It was strange how my reaction started.
I had taken Septra twice before with no issue then in one of my latest rounds it burned just a little. I thought I had burned my mouth on hot tea...luckily it was close to the end of that round of Septra.
I then had to take another sequence of it...this time it started with a sandpapery feeling tongue...then the next day the burning started and my throat was just aching along with visible burn marks on my tongue. My entire mouth felt like I had licked a stove burner.
I hope it stops burning - it is no fun indeed. Be sure you stop the abx you are on...report it to your doctor and drink a ton of water to flush it out of your system.
P.S. I am right there with you dangling at the end of my rope. I have been on antibiotics in aggressive combos since last November and I am worn out with it too! Contemplating herbal treatments....Check out Stephen Buhner's book..."Healing Lyme and Coinfections" It is incredibly enlightening on both the info. on lyme and coinfections but also on herbal formulas to fight them all. It is my hope right now...Take care...

I've had the tongue tingling/burning for years..not usually as badly as I am experiencing it today. I am noticing now that my stomach is burning also and I was just mentioning in another thread how I think they are related....something to do with the brain or parasympathetic nervous system. Things are connected. It may not be a local problem but may have to do with the nerves which are affected and are connected to each other.....if that makes any sense. :=)

Sounds to me like it could be the yeast beast. Up the acidophilis and open a capsule or two and dump it on your tongue. If it is yeast it should improve in a few days. I had a similar symptom and that helped me.

Hi Robi.
I know this ws an old post, but I found it searching burning tongue. I've had that problem since I started doing an IV Rocephin (4 days on) and Alinia (on the 3 days off).
For me it burns most on the sides of the tongue. Also the tongue is super sensative to my teeth -- it hurts when it touches tham. I find it feels best when I scrunch up my tongue so that it doesn't touch any teeth.
An ENT doc I saw said that it sounded like nerve inflamation. I seem to recall that Lyme can affect the (12th glossal?) nerve, which innervates the tongue.
Do you still have problems with this?
Hope you're well,
Susan

Robi,
I see you are from Richmond, VA. Did you ever get in touch with my Dr. S in Rockville, MD? He is the board certified homeopath who is also a medical doctor. He is very lyme literate as is his head nurse and I have had great success with his homeopathic treatments. I went off them in Nov to try abx just because I was scared not to, but I did much better with the homeopathics. According to his nurse, the bacteria cannot develop an immunity because the remedy does not remain in your system long enough. Also, it doesn't attack the bacteria like antibiotics do. It stimulates the immune system to create the needed antibodies. The antibodies then find the bacteria where it hides.
Stephen Buhner says in his Healing Lyme book and I quote:
"There have been few clinical studies on homeopathic preparations in the treatment of disease, although more are occurring each year. Significantly, they are beginning to show that, as homeopathic practioners have insisted, there is somthing in what they do.
In some circumstances, homeopathic medicines are exceptionally effective in the treatment of disease. There has been some degree of clinical success in the use of homeopathic medicines for the treatment of Lyme disease. There have been no clinical studies."
There are NO SIDE EFFECTS to homeopathy and the remedies are regulated by the FDA just like abx.
I highly recommend trying it with a qualified dr trained in Lyme disease.
