My husband started Mepron and had no bad symptoms after the first bottle. But during the second bottle, he had heart issues -- the feeling that there was a clamp on his heart, along with some heart pain.

Has anyone else had similar symptoms? Do you think it's some sort of dieoff or drug side effect? Is it unusual to have a herx-like effect so late in the course of the medication?

Hey K!

I don't have/had any heart problems prior to Lyme but when I was on my first 3 months of mepron I got accelerated heart rate, palpitations were so intense that I had to lay down also had some pressure chest pain with this; I believe it was a herx but not a heart problem since one of my first sx of Lyme and Co it was extreme palpitations for no aparent reason even on the middle of my sleep.

For me it was defintely the babs but it gets scary; one of the many docs I saw before Lyme dx believed I had a heart defect or a clogged arthery somewhere around the heart because my arms will get completely numb at the same time.

One year and half under tx for Lyme and co. and this particular sx is GONE! YEAH!
