From the small part of the wealth of info here, it seems that people become very sick very quickly.

Has anyone experienced their symptoms just go away, and if so, for how long?

I've felt fine for 3 weeks now. Going to find out test results later this week from Lyme test done last week.

Hi,

Both times that I know I've been infected (where I was ill with a rash), I felt better within a month. Both times I was given antibiotics.

The first time, I felt good 3 days after starting Biaxin.

The second time, I was very ill with a rash and felt better before I had an appointment with the doctor. When I completed a month of Doxy, I thought I was fine but was told by someone to find a doctor to treat me longer if I had any signs of not feeling completely better.

Well, a month passed and I didn't feel better any longer.

In between the first and the second bites, I know now that I still had Lyme and probably Ehrlichia. I went for a few really long spells where I had no symptoms. There were other spells that I was really sick and thought I was a useless, lazy, stupid bum who just had no idea how to keep up with normal life.

At different points I checked out the web and was sure I had Fibro, CFS, ADD and of course Lyme. All these were rejected by different people at different times. I requested a Lyme test once but it came back negative.

So, the answer to your question is yes. It's a pretty common occurance too.

Take care,

Corgilla

Many of us have found that we've actually had Lyme alot longer than initially thought. I believe I was infected as a child 46 yrs ago.

I lived a somewhat normal life, interrupted many times by illness [mysterious ones, quite often!]....finally my body gave out 11 yrs ago and I've been disabled since then.

Found out it was LYME 5 yrs ago. So yes, you can "recover" or go into "remission" for long periods of time. Don't be fooled!

Lymetoo-

I also suspect I've been sick since childhood and in the Missouri area. Is that where you believe you got infected?

My husband was bitten, got the rash and the flu symptoms. All of this lastest a month and then he felt fine for about 5-6 weeks before it all hit him again like a sledge hammer. All of this was before dx and abx.

No, Texas. I've only been in MO for 9 years. Can't believe it's been that long! Sounds like you found the "good doc"!

lets see. When I was younger my symptoms would subside for a bit and then return.

The last time I felt well for a long time was after I lost 50 pounds from a strict diet.

I was also excersising alot. Then I realized that I could drink again and started to abuse alcohol.

After that I had a full blown relapse. Hit with neuro too bad. This was 4 years ago and I havent touched a drink yet.

Actually I cant drink now. Thats when I know that Im better. Id be able to have a beer.
