Im on my second lyme doc but recently was told of Dr. G in northern NJ who is a well known rheumy lyme doc but often treats lymerix patients with antinflamatories instead of abx.
I have not talked to her office yet but since ive been on a bunch of different abx since early 2004 and really see no difference Im beginning to wonder if this might be something worth investigating.
I hate when I read that lymerix patients will just never get over lyme so perhaps I need to be thinking about better daily management instead of a cure that may come tomorrow.
Im just over 60 so today seems a lot more important than tomorrow. Now if I was 30 I might be thinking the opposite.
Do any of you see her or have any input you care to share. Im happy to have any responses here or by private email. thanks
I understand if she does not make the LD diagnosis herself she is less than helpful.
Just thought this might interest you.

Neither of these is a very good option. I've been told that prescription anti-inflammatories can cause damage not only to the heart and circulatory system, but to the joints as well.
and steroids......well, I think you know.
Sofy, are you taking supplements and following a good diet? All of that can help. MSM??
I'm sorry you are so miserable. Surely there's a dr near you who can help. But I would definitely steer clear of rheumies. There are very few of them who can help Lyme patients.

Do not take anything I say as medical advice. I am not a doctor, but I DID stay at a Holiday Inn Express!
oops!

Since this is an immune system problem, an immunologist with some kind of subspecialty might be better.
If anti-inflammatories are the sole agents used, then it wouldn't be worth the trip.
