While I'm a kid at heart, my teeth are genuine adult teeth. Thought I saw some discoloration a few days ago, but tonight, its for sure. Anyone else have this? I have been taking vitamin C which I read helps prevent this, but....
Permanent? Temporary? Solved with a good cleaning? (the discoloration i got with primaxin was solved by cleaning. it was just oxidation of the drug onto my teeth).

Dura: Are you taking a gram of C a day? There is a few papers in PubMED on this and I think the doasage was 500 mg to 1G of C per day (I don't have time to look up the reference right now though).
I took alot of Mino (always with C and I used CREST white strips- who knows if that was helpfull or not - I don;t know but it seemee like a good idea- and I didn't have the staining problem.)
I have an RA friend that takes alot of Mino and she DID get slight discoloration, even with the C and her dentist removed it (but she went in pretty quickly).

I have been on Minocycline for 9 months now, I have noticed a slight discoloration in my teeth. I don't know if it will clear up after I am off the Mino. (Which will probably be years)
Never knew about the vitamin C thing... good to know. I take 1000mg a day anyway. Hope it helps.

i know staining can occur with tetra, but only on teeth that are just coming in on children... in my mosby drug reference book it says mino can cause staining on perm adult teeth

I have also noticed difficult stains on teeth. I've started a regimen of plax and storebought plaque removers to assist.
Doxy and Zith... ALSO, I tend to drink a bit of coffee before work and in a.m. If you do, try to chase with bottled water.
