My friends husband has been diagnosed with lyme of course after the regular around. I dont have enough info yet.
It has affected him neurogically.
They are seeing a doctor in Staten Island.
He is suggesting IV right off the bat
I am not a big fan of Iv. My son was on it and soon as he would come off he would relapse.
(for the moms) When my son was in 7th grade he was diagnosed with lyme and bartonella. He is now a junior in high school and doing well. He has been off meds for almost 2years. Thanks to you guys and Dr. Jones.
I knew of no lyme literate doctor in Staten Island thats why I am asking.
I just hope he is lyme literate and treats him right.
I dont know the doctor's name but it sounded indian.
Thanks Suz

Well, neuro lyme is one of the things that are frequently suggested as needing IV. I would not want to second guess the doc. Have you tried getting info from a support group in this area?

My suggestion is to evaluate for co-infections and treat them too.
That may partially explain some of the relapses after IV abx.

Thanks for the replies. I hope she will give me information soon. I know he was slurring his speech falling down in stores etc.
I don't know if he has co-infections yet.
At least half the battle is over meaning he got a positive results and they can focus on getting him better now.
