PLEASE READ MY UPDATE LATER IN THE THREAD.

I began a new treatment regimen recently. I don't know if this (below) may be an effect of Herxing, drug side effects, or something else.

I hope I don't have to go to the ER. [Eek!]

I have abnormal uterine bleeding at midcycle right now. I have been having pelvic pain. Last night, it was intense and felt a lot like nerve pain. The bleeding isn't spotting; it's full-on menstrual blood.

I had a tubal in March with no problems.

I'm tapering an anti-seizure drug.

I feel very weak and woozy. I broke out in such a sweat earlier. [dizzy]

I'm going to try to sleep soon.

I wish I knew if this were from treatment, side effects, med change with withdrawal, hormonal hoo-ha. [confused]

If it does get more severe, I may have to call 911. My husband left for work already, and I live in a very rural area.

Steph

Morning Steph-

I have no medical training, and always take bleeding seriously. It's the pain the really rings my alarm bells.

I have had full on periods at mid-cycle, at 49 this is possible, but I had no pain.

Please do at least call your gyn, someone should be on call.

Take care,

Mel

steph,
I second that advise...

Your gyn or pcp should have a dr on call. Have someone paged or call the ER and ask them if no one else is available.

Also, call a friend or neighbor. Let someoen nearby you know whats going on.

I hope this is just a mid cycle period. they do happen, but with unusual pain, please seek medical advise.

Hope things are better soon! [Smile]

Since this is a symptom that's come on as you added drugs (and weaning another) - check ALL the drugs you're taking for drug-drug interactions.

There could be a number of things going on here:

Depending on your age, you could be starting to pass polyps. It is scary, but not dangerous. There are some treatments ( such as removal of the polps) and to have the lining of the uterus removed (what I chose).

If you are in your late 30's, you could be starting to go into menopause which sometimes can cause excessive bleeding--you can have the lining removed as a treatment.

Are you on any herbs?? Some herbs causes uterine contractions.

But you need to see the gyn. Right away.

I usually bleed mid-cycle, but nothing like a period. I bleed especially when on IV. I hope things clear up soon. Just call the gyno to see him to make sure nothing else is going on.

Definitely call your dr! There could be a problem with the tubal or polyps as Kara said....or fibroid tumors [benign tumors.]

Since you've never had this problem before, I'd have it checked out.

Definitely call somebody and get checked out, because you never know. However, I have had mid-cycle bleeding that was like a mini-period during treatment. It wasn't as painful as my period gets, but it was like cramps.

BTW - what's the regimen? When I first started treatment, I had increased bleeding and when I added Artemisinin months later the same thing happened again.

I'M SORRY! [dizzy]

Once again, I forgot to check the "Email Notification" box so I didn't know I had any responses until I checked the board tonight! [Eek!]

I may have worried everyone for nothing. Well, it's not nothing, really. It appeared that a period was starting, but it's only been the old, brown blood, and not too much after all. (I don't mean to be graphic, but there's no shame in our functions, and I had to explain what I meant.) I don't know why this is "coming down" now, though. I do think it's because of medication changes. I have been withdrawing from generic Neurontin.

My new regimen includes doxy and Cipro. (I haven't added much else back yet after a severe Herx.)

If that bleeding continues beyond tomorrow, I will call the doctor Wednesday, if not tomorrow.

I appreciate all of your concern! That means so much to me. [kiss]

Steph
