He says Tequin can cause Tendion Problems. I DON'T Need any addtional problems other than what I am fighting right now. Anyone try Tequin ?? for how long?, Any problems? What Dose?

Hi -

Do you mean Levaquin? I have heard it can aggravate tendons but know nothing more.

Good Luck!

Hi Sarah!
Here is some info on Tequin from RXList. It is a quinolone, but not a fluoroquinolone.
http://www.rxlist.com/cgi/generic3/gatifloxacin_wcp.htm

This says you can have tendonitis as a side effect.

I got tendonitis when taking avelox and when taking cipro. Not fun.

Tequin is a GREAT choice for mycoplasma fermentans infections!! Your LLMD is on the ball.

I would try it and if you begin to develop tendon pain, let your LLMD know and he can switch you to something else.

I've done very well on rounds of either Factive, Cipro or Ketek for my mycoplasma fermentans infection with no tendon problems whatsoever. I was treated with each for 3+ months. Not everyone experiences tendon side effects.

See the attached thread below for appropriate antibiotics:

Good luck!
