I am leaving Monday morning to go do some rescue work...won't be anything major due to my health restrictions...I don't know if I will be sleeping in back of truck in sleeping bags or where...

Do I need to worry about tics? Do you think they survived? (stupid...of course, they will live past the end of time)

I presently have been off medication for about 9 mths (my idea not Drs)..should I take Doxy or something just in case I do get a tic?

Thanks for your help!

I applaud your effort to go and help.
Personally, I would be more concerned about water contamination and infectuous diseases spread in the nasty water and sludge that is everywhere. I don't know but I am not sure that those are particularly endemic areas for ticks, but with the dirty water, every bug and critter could be sick or toxic or both.
You are more brave than I.
I would ONLY drink bottled water, and I wouldn't walk thru the dirty water without hip-boots and waders. I would wash my hands at every possible opportunity in clean water.
The toxic chenicals and other pollutants are a huge threat to yours (and everyone's) health and safety.
Good luck,

Ticks are in every single state. Just go prepared.

Oh yes. The ticks survived, I'm sure of that! [Mad]

Being from down here in Louisiana be more afraid of the mosquito's, especially with all the standing water in New Orleans.

Most of the time what you use to protect from one will protect you from the other.
