HI all,

The picc line went in and I've been on IV Rocephin/oral zithromax now for @ 3.5 weeks. For the first 2 weeks on IV I felt pretty good, and the IV is also taking my jaw pain away (I just had surgical debridement of my jawbone due to osteomyelitis). I also just started taking a german product to help the coagulation/fibrin issue.

I know what herxing is, and I know it's normal to herx after these surgeries and also at the start of IV therapy. But for almost the last 2 weeks it seems like my symptoms are getting progressively worse. Can a herx last that long? I'm assuming so, I just hope it lets off soon. My symptoms include severe ear pain/stuffiness, sinus stuffiness, joint pains, myalgias, brain fog, pressure sensation around my entire head, facial pain, strange tastes, aching lower legs, etc. I also get a slight headache immediately after my infusion. My symptoms are worse at night - is that common?

My Lyme test panel came back positive for just about every co-infection, so I guess I'm crammed full of bugs (including staph for the jaw infection).

Again, I think this is normal... but sometimes that Lyme panic sets in and I wonder....

You can herx a lot longer than two weeks. Two weeks to some on this board would be a walk in the park. The rocephin/zith will get that bacterial load down so you can hit the co-infections.

Hang in there as the first few months of treatment are always the worse.

I had surgery in June. I had a marked increase in symptoms afterward, namely dizziness, increased memory loss and fullness in my head.

I thought it could be yeast, so I bumped up yeast protocol, but I still have these symptoms.

Hopefully your IV will make them go away.

Hang in there!

OK, I kind of figured this was normal, it just spooked me that for 2 weeks now it seems to be worse almost every day. I'll hang in there and look forward to a break coming at some point.

Thanks!
Paige

This could be part of the reason why. Heparin, lumbrokinase, and nattokinase could intensify the herx reaction.....BUT! Don't stop the supplement! It will get you well more quickly, because it helps get the abx deeper into your tissues and cells.
