Hi everyone-Just been "coping"for a while-
I came across some bloodwork done along with W.B.-Does anyone know about c reactive protein and how it relates to lyme disease - my result was pretty high-(o.k very high)
(PCR synovial fluid -positive for lyme)But rheumatoid factor also high- boggles my mind

My Best To All

It's a measure of inflammation....in the blood vessels, I think. Anyone with Lyme stands a good chance of having a high C-reactive protein level.

Mine is high too. My dr suggested fish oil...Omega 3's.

Thanks so much Lymetutu-
Did your CRP value ever go down?
Mine was 208.5 in Feb. before Rocephin treatent-I'm thinking of askng to redo the test again- What do you think?
I hope you're doing well

I've only had the test once. I thought my result was like 1.5 or something. I think I'll call and ask. Doesn't seem to relate to your score.

My CRP was about 30 times higher than it should have been

It just kept going higher and higher over the 2 yrs it took me to get diagnosed

Noone had any clue what was causing it or what to do.

When I started ABX, it came down for the first time in 2 yrs

Great information-Thanks All
Interesting tidbit Arenell-
CRP values may be shall we say
ahhhh- I can't find the words-
not directly diagnostic but somehow helpful- I guess I'm just too curious for my own good sometimes-
But hey the quest is often better than the prize-

To be honest that high number was a kick in the pants- By looking at this scientifically "it" becomes an "entity" and maybe I won't be as frightened.

Thanks again
Olympia
