I was told that this form of magnesium is readily absorbable (Bio available?). My questions for some of you more biochem literate folks is: Is this truly a readily absorbable form for minerals like magnesium? And is it bio available once absorbed, meaning does it go/get intracellular?

check the 'Ingredients' section of the bottle, where the truth is supposed to be told, and post it here. then we could tell you more about.
for most, if not all real chemists, the term 'aminoate' is an unusual word in connection with magnesium; more likely, linguistic marketing license taken with knowm technical, even retail name for this Mg compound. 90% chance that its NOT some spankin', "brand new," latest revolutionary discovery of the 'thomas edison' kind.

The brand is NutriBiotic Multi Mineral. Aminoate defined as a dual mineral citrate-aspartate chelate bound with predigested rice protein. Should I assume this meanas it's surrounded in an amino complex?
Cal 1000 (aminoate & carbonate) Mag 500 (aminoate & carbonate) Potas 99 (aminoate) Zinc 25 (aminoate) Iron 18 (aminoate) Mang 10 (aminoate) Cop 2 (aminoate) Iod 150 mcg (kelp) Selen 200 mcg (aminoate) Chrom 200 mcg (GTF niacinate) Moly 50 mcg (Natural molybdate) Boron 100 mcg (citrate) Germanium 100 mcg (sesquioxide) Vanadium 50 mcg (aspartate)
Opinions please on bio-availability and daily dosage/timing. Thanks to all.

On the whole the formulation looks good, with one caveat.
with lyme, at least, the aspartate is potentially problematic in the sense of dosage.
as to the magnesium citrate, check the supermarket medicine isle for magnesium citrate in a bottle, sold as a laxative. $1.99/btle.
avoid the lemon flavored one if you think you have kidney problems. the limonene in the lemon flavor messes with at least one part of the kidney; my experience, supported by a search of pubmed with "kidney(renal) + limonene."

the mention of aspartate, conjured recall of past article(s) in teh lyme lit. about N-methyl-D-aspartate receptors(NMDA receptors), Bb,quinolinic acid( a natural neurotoxin), magnesium and niacin(not niacinamide).
for elaboration, search this site in the medical section, medical abstracts section, and pubmed.
also, search names on this site for tom grier, and marnie for mention of aspartate(aspartic acid), and 'NMDA.'
aspartate may have some stimulatory effect on the cns.
no time to hunt down the material. when doing magnesium citrate, i only do enough in one dose to equal 100mg. magnesium/hour,after food, and no more than this in a single dose.
for infor.on this search archives for years 2000-2003

see treepatrol's links for newbies, and, and with the exception of article on silver, read Tom Grier's essays mentioning NMDAspartate receptors, magnesium, quinolinic acid, and glutamate.... these should help a good deal w/rt aspartate...
