Just want to add an update, and also say I wish I knew how long this will take. I've been on bart treatment for 2 1/2 months, babesia treatment for 11 months, and the correct Lyme drugs for about a year.
As soon as I started bart treatment, I was able to work 60 hours per week and do aerobics. This week, I ran my first 4.0 miler (at a 10-minute mile clip, which is pokey but not totally sluggish). I also do power yoga every day, and am considering a move abroad in 6-12 months.
I still find that every 12 hours, my symptoms for all three bugs start coming back. I recently tried to go off the babesia abx and immediately relapsed, although going back on the abx removed the symptoms in three days.
So it's confusing. I look forward to reading others' experiences. Thank you to everyone who has written that no matter how sick you were with bartonella, you were cured after six months max.

What Babs treatment have you been on for a year?! Sounds like a long time. 6 Years ago I was treated for Babs with Mepron, Sulphur, and larium at the same time for 3-4 months. I never had another Babs attack again. I know some doctors are just using the Mepron or Malarone and Ketek or Zithro, but you may want to inquire about the Sulphur. Worked well for me. They dont seem to be using Larium anymore. It also worked on my Lyme as well.

Took several years for me, but I don't think I had bart.
With all the co-infections, treatment takes longer. Bart treatment is usually 4-6 months, babesia too, Lyme...can be long term. It all depends on your protocol, your immune system and how well you respond. Hang in there, each of us is different. it took me several years to feel really good. liz,
Find it interesting that you say symptoms start coming back every 12 hours -- curious as to what time of day this is? Hubby seems to have a very regular daily cycle with his symptoms as well.
