Anybody get hoarseness with later stage Lyme? I don't get a sore throat per se, or any other "cold" symptoms, just a raspy hoarse voice. I had it for about 5 weeks in June and now it's kicking in again. I am wondering if it might be Lyme related. Regards, Kenny

I do get the same thing once in awhile. I am not sure if it is lyme related or yeast related. I have noticed it more when I get a little yeasty. Lisi

Yes, I get a hoarse voice quite often. Mine feels like it's not only hoarse but weak and happens more often when I've been talking more than usual or having to speak louder than usual. It's annoying and I hate it when it happens but it's not one of my worst symptoms so I just deal with it. I'm not sure if it's from Lyme or a co-infection (I have at least Babesia and Bartonella). I do also get sore throats, but I don't think they're connected.

I stay horse a lot of the time. I use to think it was allergies but now I'm thinking its more lyme related.
Its that Suzanne Pleshette voice --- you "older" ones will remember her voice!

Definitely Lyme related in my book. I used to get that ALL the time. Now it's a rarity.

Yeap, when I was at my worst, had it all the time. My mother would always ask why my voice changes. It would be worse during herx flares.
Haven't had it in a couple years now. Just another symptom that has disappeared with improvement.

prior to treatment I was a chronic sufferer of pharyngitis and laryngitis and constantly being checked for thyroid disorder...
Since ABX I did not have on bout of this occurance until I stopped about 4 months ago and now my voice is going hoarse again.. "Camp A" says that ABX treatment is not a good thing.. and can be harmful... "Camp A" logic is ruining our lives and they have to be stopped!
I do know that not all health care is equal in our country... and if you are indigent you might as well let the local, state and government just throw the first shovel full of dirt on your grave..
the only way you will have a fighting chance with this ,, is if you are rich and do not rely on insurance to cover your illness...they will only skirt the issue and you will remain sick as sick can be

Here I go again. Any of you been tested for mycoplasma? Yes Lyme can cause throat issues, but another co-infection that can be passed by the darn tics is mycoplasma. this darn one is justs as hard as the other co-infections to get rid of. My myco tests have been up and down through treatment. the first thing I notice is the vocal cords starting to get raspy.

johnnylyme1 is correct, mycoplasm very often accompanies the lyme picture. However, symptoms often overlap and its hard to figure out what is causing what at any given time (lyme, coinfections, med side effects, herx, cold, flu etc)
Best to treat all infections, viruses, etc. as it makes sense (testing is not always accurate as we all know) and avoid further exposures. Not always easy, but it makes all the difference.
Very important to know though that there may be other reasons for experiencing certain symptoms.
