I just wanted to let everyone know that there are some good ducks out there who really care. I had my annual exam this morning with my ob/gyn. I told him I had been diagnosed with Lyme in Feb. He was SO interested.

He told me to hurry and get dressed so he could come back in and talk about it.

He wanted to know all about it. He wants all my records from Dr. C. He wanted to see all his handouts and make copies of them and my test results - everything. I was floored. I went back home and got everything and took it back up there because he wanted to read it TODAY.

He said although he is my ob/gyn he is also interested in all areas of my health and believes any chronic disease causes havoc with our whole bodies and that we will probably soon come to find out that many chronic diseases are caused by bacteria, etc. such as lyme.

He asked me if he could order any tests for me, write out any prescriptions or do anything to help me. He wants to talk to Dr. C by phone - especially if my bone density test isn't okay.
He WANTS to work with him in any way he can.

I am still in awe.

Just wanted to give a good report about a regular dr. for a change.

This is a blessing because I didn't have a PCP and Dr. C is 8 hrs. away. I just hadn't gotten up the nerve to go to a local doc and try to explain all this and ask him to work with Dr. C.

He just volunteered. I am so thrilled about this.

Yippeee! That's wonderful!!! [Smile] What a relief to have someone on your side who could help not only you, but many others who are suffering!

I'd like to caution newbies not to hand over records from an LLMD to a duck they are not confident in. It could backfire.

AWESOME. I remember going to my OBGYN for my annual visit because I originally had symptoms and neurology and my GP couldn't diagnose me.

I thought I'd go down the list seeing every doctor available hoping somewhere someone would have info. Sadly, unlike your OBGYN mine wanted to put me on Antidepressents.

She said that if everyone else cleared me then my symptoms MUST be from anxiety. And so... PRAISES to your Gynie.

How happy we are to hear that there are open minded professionals interested in treated us as a whole and not as one/a group of secluded body parts.

SO COOL!!

Please print out the "female" issue thread and share it with your OB/GYN. They need to be aware that lyme can cause vaginal burning issues....

My ob/gyn is the only one who would do a lyme test on me and that's how I got diagnosed. Some ducks aren't quacks. Hiker
