I have found that expiration dates are flexible to some extent. Why don't you call the pharmacist and ask if it would be dangerous to take it if it's expired. I SERIOUSLY doubt it.
The main issue is probably whether or not it would be effective.

WOW - tutu - u is FAST!!
I was trying to remember that link - so thanks a bundle!!
Nurse from PCP called back and they were thinking of Levaquin but, I had to be sure the doc was aware that hubby on Ketek! LLMD rx'd that one and he hasn't been to PCP since!!
Now, waiting on another call back!! LOL
I have some AVelox which has also hit the exp date . . . did ask if we could sub it!!
JUST trying to not pay for more meds!!!
Thanks again, Sherry

Thanks y'all!
The PCP decided that we could use our "expired" Avelox for this purpose - 400 mg for 5 days while still on the Ketek!
Saved me a Levaquin copay this time around!! I swear, all our money goes to drugs and we ain't even having FUN at all!!
I didn't get to ask about the mino but, will be sure and check w/ a pharmacist regarding possible toxicity. I hadn't heard that before.
Seems like each member of this family has responded to or reacted to meds differently! I can't take Levaquin or Avelox - thus my supply of those!!
I react w/ horrible tendonitis almost immediately after taking either; however, have been able to take Cipro in the past???
So far, Katie is handling Cipro fine! Haven't any idea about hubby tho as he's never been faced w/ any of that family!!!
I HATE throwing something out in case someone else here can eventually use it! So far, it has worked occasionally!
Thanks again and I hope hubby doesn't get the CRAP Katie and I had - it was some major mean stuff!!!
She missed 5 days of school and I have basically been in bed for the last 3 days! Yep - some BAADDD stuff I tell ya!
Sherry

Minocyclin, I believe, is in the tetracline family and from what I have read, taking expired products in this family are potentially dangerous to the kidneys and can damage them severely. If I were you, I WOULDN'T TAKE THEM. Don't put your body at risk.
