Has any male being treated for babesia or lyme noticed any small black or dark brown entities in his semen? After beginning treatment for both babesia and lyme, I began noticing these weird looking black things in my semen that vary in size. Some are specs and some look like little dead worm-like things. I know babesia parasites and lyme bacteria are very small, but I am wondering if there are dead clusters of one or the other (or their by-products) in my semen.
My LLMD has never heard of this but said maybe I could get some laboratory analysis. (I have found nothing on this subject from internet research.) I was taking mepron, zithro, and minocyline when I first noticed these things, but I did not notice them when I switched from mino to tequin (while still taking mepron and zith; I also herxed much less while on tequin). When I went back to mino, I noticed it again (and herxed more), and I have also noticed it while on mepron, ketek, and flagyl (my current regimine; am continuing to herx).
Any ideas? Thanks,
Darius

Haven't heard of it, but I know you can send semen to Bowen for testing.

Would 2nd suggestion for lab analysis.
Do you think it could be dried blood? -- some babesia patients have blood in the urine.
Hubby had a priapism during babs treatment -- ER doc found documentation that this could be caused by malaria so we assumed it was from the babs.
I posted on this previously when it happened, but really never found out anything more.
Lately hubby has been getting concerned about nerve damage in that area, but I think it is just the babesia coming back.
