I was just diagnosed Lyme and ehrlichiosis (human anapasmosis) after already being infected for a couple of years. Now, I am considerung to try the Fluconazol (Diflucan) protocol, because I anyway have to take Fluconazol against the yeast overgrowth (candida) I got after 7 weeks of Doxy 300mg per day.
Yet, there remain some questions that I am unable to answer by myslef and for which I kindly request your help:
1) Does Fluconazol cause an unintended bias in the blood test results if the test is run immedeiately after finishing with the pills? (This is the case with tests like ELISA, Westerblot and leucocytes transformation after having taken antibiotics. That is why one has to wait approx. 6 weeks before he runs a test. But is that also necessary after having taken Fluconazol? How does your hemogram is expected to look like immediately after 5 weeks of Fluconazol 200mg per day?)
2) How quickly do you have to restart with penecilin or antibotics after having taken Fluconazol?
3) Is there any evidence or experience of how patients with co-infections (esp. with the combination Lyme + ehrlichiosis (human anaplasmosis)) react on the Fluconazol protocol?

Hans, since you are in Germany, or at least writing from there, you would probably get the answer to your question from Dr. Schardt, University of Wuerzburg, himself. He has been doing the protocol for some time and is likely to know the answer.
I would also like to mention here -- If you are eliminating fungi from your system on that protocol and since fungi are also holding heavy metals (mercury) in their cell walls, be aware that the metals are reentering into circulation in your system and need to be dealt with. Most people living on this planet carry some or many heavy metals; depends on exposure.
You might look to www.neuraltherapy.com and read some of the articles on Dr. K's website. Then you will have a better feel of what you are dealing with.

Bear in mind that the subjects in that fluconazole study had nuerological lyme and were treated with antibiotics before the fluconazole.
If they had neurological lyme they should have been treated with rocephin by conventional medical standards. Many people have very bad problems with yeast after rocephin...
A 50% (or whatever) cure rate with rocephin alone may not be such an odd figure, despite what you see here. Many people do get rid of lyme easily. Those people don't show up on the lyme boards, why should they?
I took fluconazole 2ce a week while taking rocephin/flagyl and I still came down with a very bad systemic yeast infection- blood clots, vein breakage, brain symptoms etc... It took weeks of 200mg fluconazole to get rid of it...
I do think I got rid of the lyme- but with a combination of rocephin and flagyl, not the fluconazole! The only thing the fluconazole did for me was get rid of the yeast.
Now I'm working on bartonella.

Hans, kindly post the website of Prof. Schardt's German forum here. I would like to follow it. I have tried to follow some of the German sites, but even after I am cured, it's still amazing to me how many different pieces there are to this puzzle. One size certainly does not fit all.

I did the schardt protocol for 2,5 rounds. First 50 days of fluconazole (initially i did 150 grams on which i seemed to backslide, thereafter 300 mg) and then 28 days of phenoxymethyl penicillin (VK) (I think he recommends 20-30 days and also allows other abx such as bactrim or azithromycine, narrow, not broad spectrum).
The protocol did not work at all than i made a definite step forward a few months into it, and then backslided a little bit (but still have gained some ground) and now i am going to switch to wheldon protocol (doxy 200 mg, roxithromycine 300 mg, flagyl 1500 mg 2 days weekly)
