I do and have for years now. I haven't had any trouble as yet with yeast, which seems odd I know but it's been fine. The last update from burrascano I read I notice he mentions that yeast control starts in the mouth and it got me thinking about my tongue cleaner.
Last week I started levaquin as we think I may have bartonella, because of recurring sore throats. So a few days later suddenly the amount of goop that I scrapped off my tongue was much less, in fact nearly nothing. For years now morning and evening when I did the tongue cleaning some amount of gook got scrapped off it didn't smell didn't seem like it was yeast so I figured it was just dead tissue and food debris. But now in sudden lack of the gook, I'm thinking the levaquin is killing something that took up residency in my mouth. Which is gross but encouraging as I have no other signs of change yet...but if it was on my tongue then it seems like a sore throat could follow that.
Anyone else have similar experiences?

I loooove my tongue cleaner! I noticed that after doing an anti candida diet for awhile, I was able to scrape off ALL the gook, which had never happened before - i.e. I scraped, but the stuff just wouldn't all ever come off.
Now that I have fallen off the wagon (I just quit smoking) and into a large pile of sugar, the gook is back. I have been taking diflucan but haven't noticed much of a difference.
Dunno if that helps at all . . . I should start paying more attention to my tongue.
Cheers,
Alison

I sure could use it.

I think they might be talking about a tongue scraper?
I bought one at walmarts. But you can usually find them in any drug store.I love mine. It really works.

I've been using a tongue scraper since before LD treatment. On doxicycline I noticed a lot more goo and it smelled like yeast. Later on Zithromax, Metronizadole and Diflucan I think the Diflucan really took care of the yeast. I started to see a pink tongue for the first time in decades! The mouthwashing that Dr B recommends doesn't seem to aggravate the freshly scraped tongue, either.
I love my tongue scraper, too.

You can usually fine them at any pharmacy, or health food store.

Checking my tongue is one of the first things my acupuncturist does each week before she starts the session.
I also use a tongue scraper regularly...except the days I'm seeing her.
She thinks it helps, and my mouth seems a little fresher whenever I use it.

After I brush my teeth, I always rinse the toothbrush and I brush my tongue. Would a tongue scraper do a better job?

Definately works better!
So what I'm seeing isn't yeast. I had to stop the levaquin and it came back. tendon problems and I got bronchitis, so I'm back on zithromax for the moment and the gook is back.
(though thrush is a thing to watchout for and is addressed in the last burrascano 09/05 write up, toward the end)
