i just got my reselts....9 normal is 60 to 360 have any of you done this test, and if so, did it change your treatment regimen?

The low count seems to be only useful as an aide for diagnosing. But it doesn't seem to relate to how you feel. (I should know)

I just found out my results a few days ago. 136!
On the one hand I feel like I aced an exam, but on the other hand it doesn't even come close to putting a number on how crappy I feel.

I am having this test next week. In Dr Bs protocal he states that if this level is not at least normal, you will relapse when off ABX. My LLMD his startng to look at this closely with his patients. If this is low there must be a way to raise this.

Usually immune boosting supplements are recommeded suck as CordyMax and ReshiMax from Pharmanex. They help raise CD-57 according to the info I have received. I am taking them now too. Posted by ebrischoux (Member # 7281) on :
My sons was 18 before abx treatment and it is 39 now. The test is being used as a monitor to see if the abx are working on him. He is also HLA DR4 which from what I understand means that his body does not produce antibodies to fight infection well. New to all this and not medically proficient YET!!

Hi Margene,
The CD57 test tests for one particular natural killer cell, that, the theory goes, is incredibly low in Lyme patients.
This test is also used to track progress of Lyme patients. As treatment progresses, they re-administer the lab test and look at the number to see if progress has been made and the number is up.
Once the number is in a good range, then that becomes a sign that it may be OK to discontinue antibiotics and that the Lyme is in remission.
Although many Lyme patients have said that the number doesn't neccessarily correspond to feeling better, so it's not for certain.
I suspect mine may have been so high because I have been literally flooding my body with immune boosting supplements for a couple of months. But I just don't know. And I feel only slightly less yukky.

I feel better when my CD57 number is up and feel worse when it is low. I have not experienced otherwise.
