Hi!

I'm a newbie to lymenet. I was diagnosed with a Positive WB about 2 months ago. I'm being treated by Dr. H. I've been on minocycline and plaquinil for about 6 weeks now. I've survived my first herx and am increasing my doses.

About 6 weeks prior to my diagnosis, I broke out in a screamingly itcy rash on parts of my body where the sun don't shine...literally. I had the rash everywhere that was NOT tanned. My idiot duck diagnosed this as SCABIES!!! Ewwwwwwwwww!

It didn't take long to realize that this was NOT scabies, and as I already suspected that I had LD, I chalked it up to one more symptom.

The rash finally pretty much resolved and I was itch free for a while. But...it's baaaaack!

It's a raised red bumpy rash. Medium fine. The itch is UNbelievable. Sometimes, especially when I let my imagination carry me away, it almost feels like I'm being nipped at.

Anyone else get this? And how do you treat the itching? Dr. H saw the rash on Tuesday, but he sort of just smiled at it benignly, agreeing that it wasn't, indeed, scabies.

Sorry this post is so long, and thanks in advance for any advice.

I am on mino and get itchy, especially scalp.

Can you ask dr. straight to change/adjust meds?

I am learning that they at times don't act on complaints until you say enough.

I bet some others will come along with suggestions to relieve...

I don't think this rash is connected to my meds. I had the same identical rash prior to my meds, diagnosed as scabies.

Old symptoms can arise, new one's can manifest, it's one heck of a roller coaster. If your doing mino/plaquenil you may want to mix in some artemisinin as well. Won't help the rash, but will help to kill the bacteria that's giving you the rash.

Your LLMD should be able to prescribe something to keep the itching down.

Welcome to the board.

Be sure to print off TREEPATROL'S NEWBIE LINKS found on top of screen 1 in medical. Check them off as you read; many months of reading, and tree constantly adds to the list.

Best wishes. I've itched for ages; tried every cream available...nothing helps. Rash comes & goes EVERY MONTH for me staying from 1 week to 1 month...go figure.

I'm not on any meds and I've had this rash repeatedly since my bullseye rash in 1992. I have it now. I saw a derm on Friday. He gave me no answer. He just said looks kinda like eczema. It itches like crazy and is also where the sun don't shine. I've never had it on my face.

Another wasted duck appt.
