I went through treatment for Babs but still have the WORST splitting headaches. And I mean bad. And daily.

My doc prescribed Tramadol (Ultram). I think I remember hearing that NSAIDS, Tylenol, etc. are not good for us but don't really know why that would be the case?

Wondering what y'all take when your head feels like it's going to explode.

Thanks.

Hmmmmm,

I just read in another post that Diflucan can clear a stuffy head.

Ran out of it a week ago and haven't made it to the pharmacy to pick up the waiting rx.

Think there's any relationship here?

We take Tramadol/Tylenol for pain. My kids have a constant, severe headache and it takes the edge off the pain.

Hey there!

I so feel for your misery! I too get incredibly debilitating headaches. I have tried many things: neurontin, topomax, ultram, many others.

Recently I have had good luck with an antidepressant called Cymbalta - a relatively new one which has been shown to help with chronic pain/headaches. And! It works great on depression as well.

Other aids that have helped: Midrin, a migraine drug, and muscle relaxers. A friend of mine has had good luck with Elavil.

So sorry, LymeBites.

Topomax here, every night.

Headaches improving. After a couple years of daily, intense ones.

When REALLY bad, ask your doctor for a sample of Imitrex or Relpax. Use sparingly.

Imitrex works fastest, Relpax a slower starter for me but seems to give longer relief.

These are not for anyone with heart difficulties and NOT to taken with, say, the regularity of aspirin. But are a very good "rescue" med for those suffering with relentless headache.

Diamox reduces intercranial pressure for some; my LLMD says about 50% are helped by it (I was not, unfortunately).

Wishing it better for you soon.

Michelle
