Im ready to give up. I really wish God would just take me away now. I was doing ok till I took those stupid bicillin injections this past week. Today I am weak, my muscles and joints aches, my skin is on fire. I can harldy lift my head and I don't want to do anything!! This cant be a normal herx. How long can I expect a herx to last??
I also have pins and needles in all extremities. Im just ready to lose it!!!! Here it is Thanksgiving and I dont even know if I can enjoy it today. God help me!!!

Please, take it a minute at a time, and KNOW that life will get better. My husband has similar sx, I do think it is the "ketes" fighting back after antibiotics are sent in to the system... Take care of yourself, how about a very warm bath or shower,(sauna?) and drink lots of water to flush out the toxins. Try to have a good day, and know that we are with you.

Nal I know how you feel.Sometimes I pray "God heal me or take me now"
Sounds like a bad herx !I Had one similar to what you described.
It SUCKS !!!!!!! But as bad as you feel means you are killing some serious amont of Ketes. The worse you feel the even worse day they are having because those B@##$%^d ketes are dying off in record numbers.
You are winning the war. They are dying!
Do any thing you can to detox because you probably have a lot of toxins from their dead bodies.
I think drinking lots of water is a good idea and also taking a warm epson bath is good too. When I have had bad herxes like this within a couple of weeks I have felt the best days ever.
I am so sorry you feel so bad and specially on thanksgiving too.I am not gonna try and blow sunshine but just to say hang on tight and this WILL be over soon. Posted by lymeHerx001 (Member # 6215) on :
Ive been there 1000 times Maybee more..
You look at me and I look normal.
ITS THE GOD_DAM* government coverup and the FUC*IN TOXINS>.......!!!!!!!!!!!
Hang in there buddy...
When Im herxing everything looks evil and I just want to die.. I also feel like taking a knife and cutting myself.

I don't usually do this, but Nal you need to read this over and over and over again today, tomorrow and have it posted somewhere where you will see it daily.
God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, Courage to change the things I can and the wisdom to know the difference.
May God give you some relief today,

Nancy,
If He should come for you, would you stop by and pick me up too? I've been feeling this way for a few weeks now.
Now on the other hand, I'd say we're both probably too miserable right now that the devil probably wouldn't even want us.
So I guess we just have to suffer through this awful disease some more and ride the waves. Try to make the best of it as I'm trying. The only thing that keeps my spirits up a bit besides my husband and the other good people in my life, is looking back at the few good hours or days I've had once the herx was over.
Hang in there Posted by Nal (Member # 6801) on :
You guys are a great cheer squad!! How long should a herx last? When is it "too long" and you need to look into something else?

We've all been there. I have had many holidays ruined by this disease, in pain, too sick to go anywhere too. It will get better, just stay strong, The herxing is a good sign that the antibiotics are hitting their target. Bicillin can give you big herxes in the beginning so just try to remember you are getting good treatment and you will get better, its just going to take time. Don't give up! Hang in there! The worse you feel, means the better your getting!
As lousy as you feel...don't give in to this! It will get better! Trust me!! Posted by timaca (Member # 6911) on :

Everyones herxs are different, as you well know. I have never been on IM shots. I'm on IVs and 300 mg doxy.
Once a month I have a bad spell that lasts 3 to 5 days.
11 days after starting the doxy I was quite sick for 3 days. That seems to happen to me anytimge I get a high dose antibiotic. I've pulled out of that, and surprisingly, except for my burning nerves, I've felt the best I have ever felt in the last 2 years. Almost normal!
I guess the only thing you could do is talk to your LLMD about stopping the IM shots for a brief period of time...just to see where you level out. Then start them again to see how long and how they affect you. Then you will know what your herx is. That way you can weather them better.
I've just come to learn what my pattern is, and that helps a great deal in weathering it.
God's blessings to you this Thanksgiving. He's there. And so are we. Hugs.... Posted by Nal (Member # 6801) on :
Im having trouble relaxing today. I had a massage last night and I know that really released some toxins and I am feeling worse today. Not to mention the anxiety and depression!!!! Im still so scared and today I am just taking things one minute at a time.

Ditto, ditto, ditto!!!
I'm glad you're calming down, Nancy. Things can get really rough in the beginning. I won't tell you how long I herxed. It will depress you!
I would suggest waiting to get the next Bicillin until you have at least two good days. You need a rest now and then.
This is not much different from chemo. Chemicals in, bugs out. As they die, we suffer. BUT....we also get better!!

Believe me, I know what your are going through. I've been in a terrible herxing state for two months. Being the first treatment I didn't know what to expect and thought I was dying or stroking out in the brain from the zapping feelings. Heart palapations, shortness of breath, etc. I've never experienced anything such as this. I find that deep breathing exercises help me get past the few moments when things are so intense.........then I get prepared for the next episode......Please know we are all here for you and understand what you're feeling. My children are here for Thanksgiving Dinner and it has been so difficult for me to prepare, thanks to their help we finished. Guess you and I will always remember this Thanksgiving Day, huh My prayers are certainly with you and I trust things will let up very soon for both of us.......
For me, it is another start up of antioboditcs for treatment of the Lyme.......the herxing I'm currently experiencing is for the coinfectins which the Dr. is treating first.......
May you have a good rest of the day and God be with you!!!!!!!!!!!!! Dalphia

Nancy,
I too can relate to where you are coming from. The last 6 months since starting treatment have been utter hell for me but when I get a few hours here and there where the pain is not the only thing I am thinking about, I get a glimpse of what life will be like again one day.
Pam-love your quote-it is so true. I was thinking the other day as my kids were lying in bed with me during a bad spell and we were giggling about something silly that this is what it is all about-it's the simple things make me happy and keep me going.
take good care,
Diana

Nal, I'm sorry if I came on too strong with my post yesterday with Serenity Prayer. I remember 4 yrs ago on Christmas Day I was feeling like you have been this Thanksgiving.
That prayer hung on my frig hand written to myself, until my wonderful husband seen it on a cross at the card shoppe and he bought it for me. That cross is on my window sill in front of my kitchen sink, so that I can read it during difficult times.
I've done so much, learned so much, spent so much in the last 4 yrs to get where I am today, that I wanted to send something your way, that might get your attention quick.
That 4 yrs ago is what I called lyme hell. Even though I've made it through the worst of lyme, I will NEVER forget how it (lyme) felt, what it did to my mind, how it tried to tear my spirit, my soul, my body apart.
Again I hope I didn't offend you. I understand.
Take care, Pam

Pam,
I am not offended in any way. It is one of my favorite prayers actually! Thank you. I still feel terrible today and scared. Ill keep plugging along though.

Nancy,
I know how you feel!! There are days when I have skin burning, tachycardia, low bp, muscle pains, creepy crawley skin, fatigue, dizziness, nausea, migraines and many more things. I have felt terrible for the last month and my husband keeps saying it's herxing but I swear sometimes I'm dying a slow and horrible death of something unknown!! There are many nights I would be in so much pain and pray to GOD "please just let me fall asleep and never wake up". But then I wake up and slowly feel my body getting a little stronger. It's very hard emotionally to go up and down. Please hang in there and know that we are all here for you and get through the hard times somehow. It's a very slow process and hard to kill lyme. We will all get there one day. You are on the road to recovery.
I am sending you *HUGS* take care,

Hang in there Nal.
Last Thanksgiving I couldn't sit up at the table for more than a few minutes. My energy would plummet to the point I couldn't even hold myself upright. I spent most of the holiday flat out on the sofa feeling absolutely tortured. A few weeks later I went on stronger drugs.
Christmas was even worse, severe energy plummets plus my whole body vibrating... I started using podi patches and Epsom salt baths and finally got a bit of relief. The patches stopped the constant pin pricks & electrical shocks in my feet & ankles and they helped me sleep through the night (no more getting up 8 times to pee). The Original Patches (smoky) worked best.
In February I managed to ski a few times (in great pain but thrilled to be well enough to get off the sofa).
Fast forward One Year from last Thanksgiving to this one and WOW: I did all the cooking, went sledding with my nephews & ran up and down the snowy hill over & over, much of the time I felt like a normal person again. I stuck to my usual routine: I took abx, strict anti yeast diet, soaked in Epsom Salts and used podi patches every night. I have to do these things to feel better.
I began writing in a Lyme Log everyday about a year ago. When I get discouraged I read it and realize I am making progress. The first 5 months of treatment were hellish and had more downs than ups but then I started to get better. Hoping you'll start feeling better soon.
Take good care of yourself. hats

Nal,
I am sorry that I was unable to write you on Thanksgiving Day. I did see your post that day and I have prayed for your continually each day. I pray taht the herx has gotten better and that you are slowly coming out of it. Keep your chin up. There are people out here thinking and praying for you. I will continue to do so daily. Let me know how you are doing.
Your Friend,

Your replys helped me also. My son is the one with lyme and autism...His herx's are in aggression and just reading all these posts brought tears to my eyes...I cant imagine being my son and the pain he is obviously in...and some days I cant imagine what he thinks of me trying to help him. I pray to God every night to give me the strength to get him thru this. No one else in my family understands why I continue to treat the lyme considering he is getting worse and not better. Been told many times that it does get worse before it gets better. Need to hear it over and over again from time to time.

Nal,
I have thought about dying even though I'm not at all suicidal. I think it's natural to want it to end. Strangely, your email made me feel better--just to know someone else is out there that has the same disease and feels the same way.
I almost didn't go to Thanksgiving but then I got a good night's sleep and felt ok, you know, only medium sick so I went ahead with the weekend with my family. Hope you're better today.

Cannabis works very well for toxic type infections. I would have ended it all long ago if I didn't have this medication to get me thru. If you can't find it I'll do what I can. (email me) The laws MUST be overturned. It's disgusting.
