If you've had your CD-57 levels checked I am just curious what the level was.

I tested positive for LYME from IgeneX (through both CDC and IgeneX criteria) but interestingly my CD-57 level was in the low 200s (range 60-320) from Labcorp. I read before that people who have lyme often times have low CD-57 levels (maybe even below 60). Any thoughts on this?

I was JUST reading Burrascano's 2005 guidelines.
He says that if one tests above 60... in the normal range, that it's possible that something else is making the patient ill, beside lyme. Possibly a coinfection.

Thanks for the response. I am being tested for co-infections by IgeneX but haven't gotten the results back yet. I was tested twice by Quest for Babesiosis. Once it came back positive and once negative so I guess I get to choose?!

I do know that I have lyme. I was just wondering how many others seem to have normal CD-57 levels but also test positive for lyme?

Good you're being thorough with your testing.

I know that there are others on this board who have been pretty ill with a normal cd-57 count and those who have been feeling fine with a low count.

Go figure.

Though, Dr. B does point out that, at this point, they believe that lyme is the only disease that lowers that cd-57 subset.

My LLMD didn't even bother testing my CD57. He claims it is not the treatment marker they once hoped it would be. He said there is no rhyme nor reason to the results. Like another post said some people feel like crap with a high CD57 and others feel fine with a low CD57 score.

My CD57 score is 4,, I think the top range is 50.

My LLMD said to get it up with mushrooms and excersise.

So I went out and picked up the HOST DEFENSE,,
it says that it raises NK levels.

I started with 3-4 a day....

OHH MY GOD

I had a herx from hell. I fell asleep at my friends house and started sleeping soo much.

Withing 3 days I was suicidal,, everything was evil and I WANTED TO DIE>

Damn these toxins. And to think that I was just hoping I was crazy.

Im sick with multiple infections that my immune system doesnt recognize.

The worst herx was on the BIAXIN,, 2 years later I still take that.

I also herx from samento and now these mushrooms.

I really do wonder if its multiple strains of the bacteria in my dovy or if it is other infections alltogether.

I allready tested negative for bart and other co-infections 4 times.

To this day it still amazes me how arrogant the medical system is yet they dont know SH"T

My CD57 was 53...Dr B said in those with chronic Lyme it is usually under 10 but mine was higher due to co-infections. I think Babesia is my main problem.
