I just mailed this off to my Ins. co. Anyone have any luck getting money back? My cost was $615.00 for six tests. Are there any other LLMD's that I should mail my test results to, for them to look at? I am wondering why my tests were positive on the first run? MMMMMM!

Depends on the ins co. Mine paid only a small amount of the bill.
If you are looking for negative results, plenty of labs will be glad to oblige. Most people are pleased to have a positive test to go along with their lyme symptoms.
I seriously doubt that any LLMD's would have the time to look at results mailed to them from non-patients. You apparently have not had much experience with the medical world. I don't think any doctor anywhere would look at test results from a stranger, without payment. Hoo boy, what an idea! And lyme docs are swamped with actual patients, not looking for test results in the mail from you. Astonished at your naivete, did I spell that right. Wishing I did not have so much experience in the medical world. Not laughing at you, just shaking my head in amazement.

I got $50.00 back from Blue Cross on a $250 IgeneX bill. HAH!
I confess I still have no idea what you mean by "positive on the first run."
Does that mean that at some earlier date and time, you tested positive somewhere else? And maybe after various course of abx, you are now testing negative or equivocal thru IgeneX?
Un-confuse me, please.

I have BC/BS and they paid thed whole Igenex bill. My other family members with United Healthcare also had 100% reimbursement.

The first run of the tests were positive, from Igenex, I guess they did a second run that day or the next day, and the majority came back neg. Thanks for the imput re: other doc's looking at my results. Dont take questions so seriously guys! I am only asking here.

My insurance company (Golden Rule - Alliance PPO) allowed most of the charges and would have paid if our deductable had been satisfied. Of course this was early on and now they pay for everything. They get me for an out of network fee on my LLMD but reimburse for most of the charge.

Rob,
Iowa does NOT have IGX on their APPROVED list of labs so reimbursed me $43 out of $180 western blot tests. If IGX was ON approved list, they would have reimbursed me 80% of amount.
So always check with YOUR state's health insurance company since it's California's BLUE shield office you deal with for BCBS coverage.

Absolutely correct! That's an important point people need to realize about ins companies.
Mine paid most of the charges. I think maybe 80%....but can't remember. That was 5 yrs ago and I do well to remember what I had for lunch!!!

On a $199.00 bill from IGeneX for a western blot, I submitted to Aetna and received $145.00 back.
