I used to post on this site way before it ever got this format, like 1999. Back then I only had one kid with Lyme. Now he is in remission and doing really well but another son and both my husband and I are on abx. Ain't this fun!
I haven't been reading much for several years so if this is old stuff please point me in the right direction to go read, but in a quick look I haven't found it.
The second son (actually bitten in '95 but not showing symptoms for years)is married and his wife had their first child a year ago. She has been having a terrible time with food allergies ever since. She had problems before with depression and yeast but it has moved way past that. The only safe foods are brown rice, some meat and most vegetables. Her Igenex tests are equivicol with only the most general bands showing anything. Muscle testing says Lyme for her and the baby but her symptoms seem to be tied to foods.
Have others had food reactions that they can tie to Lyme? (depression from sugar, upset stomach, puffy face with soy, rashes on hands, headaches . . .)
Thanks, Kidsmom

my son had terrible food reactions. We think he was gestational lyme. We also think the infant vaccinations had something to with it.
WE gave him digestive enzymes, pro-biotics and yeast fighters for a LONG time. He had TERRIBLE yeast. WE use oil of oregano for yeast.
He was on a strict diet while doing this.
he reacted to dairy, soy, egg, gluten and sesamie.
It was a tough time for us. He had terrible behavior, failure to thrive and nasty bowel movements.
