Does the lyme titer correlate to the severity of the disease or anything else for that matter? For example, does a titer of 5 mean anything different than a titer of 2?

I believe the way it works (someone correct me if I am wrong) is that the higher the titers, the more your immune system is fighting lyme. So, if you have very high titers, the infection is more severe. However..... it is also possible that Lyme has exhausted your immune system, in which case you may have very low titers (test negative), but still have a very severe case of lyme. This is what makes it so hard to test for lyme with accuracy, but certain bars on the WB are very specific to lyme, which should at least arouse suspicion in a knowledgeable MD.
